| I just picked one up yesterday at Cabela's using birthday gift cards from students. I don't normally buy guns from Cabela's but the price was only about $30 over the cheapest price I could find online. Their 4473 process is... tedious. I'll try to get out to shoot tomorrow. |

If you watch the video you will see that it will take the standard mags still as well so no going out and buying more mags like the dummies at Ruger did with the mark4

| I put 100 rounds through my compact today with the intention of zeroing the red dot. I had absolutely no malfunctions, but unfortunately the red dot windage adjustment is faulty. I couldn't get the most out of the pistol as I was dicking around with the optic the whole time. Sending the Riton MPRD 2 back to the manufacturer for a replacement. |

The Romeo Zero I got instead was a PITA. Sold at a loss. Two ADE dots proved to be crap. I'd give the second one away. Now have a Holosun after spending more than if I'd bought it first. |

Thought I would put this in here vs. a new thread. So since I've owned the TX22 compact, it has been very reliable. But the one issue that kept reoccurring has finally made me reach out to Taurus to see how they handle it.   The end of the barrel leads excessively after only 75-100 rds. This makes the accuracy open up from one ragged hole at 7 yds to a shot gun pattern of 4-5 inches. Ammo makes no difference, Fed Bulk/Winchester X/Aguila/Eley/Remington Viper. My gut tells me that the rough machining of the Barrell is doing it, and the soft lead is not going to smooth out the rough lands and grooves. I thought about JB bore compound and trying to smooth it out, but as the pistol is new, I thought I would give Taurus a chance to make it right. I just sent an email on their web site and will wait to see what they want to do. More to come. |

1/29/25 Update. After 10 days of silence, I received three emails from Taurus. The first was the RMA/case number with instructions on what to do. I have to send the entire gun back along with the magazines (I had to remove the RDS. The second was a prepaid shipping label from Fed ex to mail it back The third was an Invoice showing the $50 return shipping fee that was $0 dollar charge to me. I will drop it off at Fed Ex in the Morning and wait to see what they do. other than the 10-day lag in hearing from them (I'm guessing SHOT show may have been the cause) I'm impressed so far on how there handling this. We'll see said the Zen master...we'll see. |

Update: Thanks to my lazy LGS and PAs charge system SNAFU my order got cancelled. Lost out on a good deal:  Oh well time to find a new LGS and store. Any deals on an FDE compact out there? |

Emails not answered, can't get a human being on the phone and SHOT was last week, so by now someone should be in the damn building manning the phones.

Wow, I don't think Taurus expected as much response to the offers as they originally thought. I ended up placing an order at another LGS for a FDE TX22C but living in HI for now means 2-3 week wait time. |
So I finally got to shoot my TX22 Compact FDE today. First impressions is this thing is smaller than I thought it would be. It reminds me a lot of my old Smith & Wesson M&P22 Compact in size minus the ability to mount an optic. Field stripped the gun and inspected the barrel and found nothing out of the ordinary but it took a bit off CLP and some qtips to clean and lubricate. Used Cherrybalmz Rimfire Remedy for the rails and other contact points though.   I mounted a new Gideon Valor Mini (EPS Carry competitor) and fired 200 rounds today. 100 of Armscor first then 100 of old Federal Auto Match I bought last year:   Had two FTEs on my first two shots then perfect function through the rest of the Armscor rounds. The Federal ammo had two FTFs and several FTEs. I zero'd the optic at 7 yards within the first magazine then shot the second magazine in quick succession. 20 rds in total in this pic:  Initial impressions from both my wife and I are that we like the trigger vastly better than the Sig P322. It will take me a while to master the magazine loader and process but find the bullets stay in proper alignment more reliably than in the P322 magazine. Otherwise what concerns me a bit are potential impact shifts when the barrel heats up but I know it's not meant to be a target pistol. In this respect it reminds me of the M&P 22 Compact too. I also checked to see if it was the threaded muzzle device that might've come loose causing slight POI shifts but it was tight and secure. First 3 shots grouped high then settled on bullseye, next magazine dispersed a bit from high to center too. 20 rds in total in this pic at 7 yards:  Some post shooting barrel pictures:     Some slight color discoloration of the threaded muzzle device present pre/post shooting, rust?:  Overall I'm pretty happy with the little gun and may end up also buying the bigger gen 2 full size model. I'll keep shooting to see how the barrel holds up and see if the POI shifts are a figure of my imagination
