| Hi just picked up a new Springfield Echelon 4.0C and you literally have to slam very hard an empty mag (slide closed) for it to seat. A loaded mag takes a bit less, but is no where as easy to seat as a mag like with my Glocks, M&P's or Berettas. I tried different mags and get the same results each time. On an empty mag, if you try to slowly make it seat, it literally won't unless you push it around. You have to slam it hard every time. Is this considered normal? |

It should be the opposite. Empty mags take little to seat and full mags take a bit more force to seat with the slide closed. With the slide open it should be the same force with either. At least that's the way mine are. |
The 2nd is not about hunting, it never was. It was put in place for one reason and one reason only. You can't have them, we won't give them up, so get over it.

After doing dozens of mag release/inserts, the mags seem to be easier to seat (i.e. mag catch taking ahold). |

The extended mags literally seat instantly when inserted, while the regular mag just needs a nudge with my palm. |
