I have a G48 MOS I picked up last Fall and it has the dull, grayish on the slide  . From the images I'm seeing from retailers on the web, the new production versions shipping with the new 15 round mags appear to have the slick nDLC finish like the full size guns (and like the 43x/48 used to have). I'd like to get another 48 MOS and prefer the slick finish. Anyone pick up a 48 with the new mags recently and have the slick finish on the slide? |

The gen3 and early gen4 guns with the frying pan finish were awesome. It was their best finish. |

I can't stand Glock's nDLC finish. It's too slick and starts coming off immediately. I was glad when my last couple 43X's came with nitride only. Attached File |

I've had very good experiences with the nitride Glock has been using for the last 10 years or so. Little to no wear after tens of thousands of rounds. This is one of my 17 Gen 4's when it hit 10,000 rounds. I've got a 19 Gen 3 with two slides (one original and one factory MOS) that looks the same with 6250 rounds on the original slide and 3750 rounds on the MOS slide. I've been shooting Glocks since 1989 so I've experienced all the finishes. Attached File |
