That's a lot of rails for a .22. I wonder how much crap you can hang on them before the gun quits cycling. Wait, is that outer part with the rails stationary? I guess so. It's hard to envision how the action works on that. |
9 lives - 9 pellets... Coincidence?

All I want is a 22/45 with a reversible mag release, better safety, and bigger mags. So, basically this. Reversible ejection is kinda neat, though hopefully it doesn't spit fire out the opposite ejection port where my support hand will probably be. I'm interested enough to try one if the price gets down into the $500 range, but man is it fugly.

Nice shooting gun, but real ugly. I guess they decided to make something even uglier. Edit: The PX4 is what I was thinking of. |

Its definitely a love it or hate deal looks wise. I doubt the top rail is removable but it looks like the lower rail is MLOK and removable? |

Yeah, thanks. I finally figured it out. At first glance, I saw it all wrong. It makes a lot more sense now. |

| This will bomb at $900 per. Hope they release a base model to compete with Ruger MKIV. |

All they needed to do was a knock off ruger, browning or SW victory. Update the magazine to hold ~20 rounds Optics ready Threaded Easy change barrel Flat faced light trigger Charging halo/hand Decent grip angle (I prefer 1911 or 2011 ergos) Also not look like dog crap. |

It felt like a Model 85 in every way, made of quality materials, top notch machining and finish, felt and shot like a real firearm made for adults. Great ergonomics, reliable, etc. all the good characteristics that Beretta is known for. Instead the spend the money developing and launching a full size revision of their .380acp. at the exact time that the market is flooded with surplus samples of the original selling for less than half of what they were asking for the new one. Trump slump notwithstanding, .22LR is and will always be the cheapest ammo available, gun guys all own various .22s and those who know will buy a model 87 after having fired one. I sold mine with 4-6 mags on gunbroker a few years back when the prices skyrocketed. Beretta has a habit of not continuing to support products once they're discontinued and I didn't want to fall for that. It's always good to see new guns being made! I wish them luck in selling their Ruger clone in the US. |

Came with a threaded barrel and 5x 8rd magazines. Have to agree, one of nicest 22lr pistols I've shot. Nice finish, especially with the wooden grips. This one is one of the late model productions from 2010-2012. Took my dad shooting back in Dec to gift him a Beretta 84BB, the 87BB was a good trainer, even with the crap 22lr ammo. Had a few issues, but not sure the issue. Probably the ammo. Unless Beretta comes out with an updated 87, I'll pass on their Ruger competitor. |

Unless Beretta comes out with an updated 87, I'll pass on their Ruger competitor. Seems you lucked out! I've owned a couple of 84s but preferred the 85, even though I have larger hands. IIRC, the 84 frame hit a bone at the base of my thumb on recoil and the 85 doesn't. I can't think of many updates that the 87 could benefit from, honestly. Maybe a replaceable tritium dot front sight, a taller serrated u-notch rear sight, and a double stack, single-feed, magazine but the latter could ruin it's reliability. I also owned a Model 89 at some point and it was much closer in quality and accuracy to a S&W Model 41 than to the later Model 87T which wasn't a target pistol at all. Since it's a single action, a Beretta Model 71 has a better trigger than the 87 and is a very pleasant gun to shoot but I preferred the longer grip of the 87 and it's a lot harder to find a DA/SA .22LR that looks and feels like a real pistol than a single-action one with the same characteristics. Accuracy and reliability-wise, my model 87 could keep up with a good single-action like a well set up Ruger MKII or III (I have no experience with the IVs) or a Browning Buckmark but the single-actions were easier to shoot well due to the simpler trigger and unlike most guntubers, I shoot double action pistols and revolver in double action. Sorry OP, that's a no for me. I'll stick with my Mossad special. No rails, no "high-cap" mags, no optics, but plenty of panache. Attached File |

Puke. They literally pulled a Ruger (rip off an existing successful pistol with “upgrades” ie….LCP) with a Ruger clone. They should have made a 87X. Or just stick to having an air soft company making your 22lr clones. It’s not like Beretta has a history of producing top quality rimfire pistols that keep their value.…..948, 70s series and 80 series. |
