Hi, Just wondering what you guys think and know about my 3 Pythons, My 4inch is a 1966 Model that I like to shoot and is my favorite of the bunch, I had it tuned years ago by a Gun smith that was known to make them a smooth shooting gun. I do not have the original grips and it has wear. My 6inch is a 1987 Model with Original grips and is in very nice shape and not fired much at all. My 8 Inch is a 1988 10 Pointer model that has some wear but overall in nice shape with non original scope, I do have the original wood grips and the Black ones as well. Anything special about any of these years? Were they known to be good years for them? Rough idea on value? I have no plans to ever sell just wondering. Some collectors seem to think lower of the post 1980 built guns, but all the ones I’ve handled seemed as good as the guns from the ‘50s to the ‘70s. You got a good collection going, enjoy them. Don’t be afraid to shoot them either. The old Colt revolvers are nowhere near as fragile as the internet makes them out to be. Plenty of police departments ran them hard back in the day, and most survived. As for value, don’t expect to get rich, what these guns get listed for and what they actually sell for are two very different values. I can’t really make a fair guess without seeing pics though. |
