I've had this pistol for a few years but less than 200 rounds fired. Accuracy wasn't great but most of it was problems with my grip. I'm shooting more centered now but it's about a 4-5 inch group at 15 yards. I've shot better than this with other pistols. There was a thread in GD about poor accuracy in some of the MP pistols. Who here is also having accuracy issues and is a new Apex barrel the best fix? Have you fitted one before, how did that go? Trying to decide if I invest in a new barrel, or sell for something else. Edit: To be clear, I'm not inexperienced. I was a firearms instructor with CBP and shooting since my teens. I shoot center mass with all my guns despite the "trigger finger" condition of my left hand but with therapy it's gotten better. I may be at center mass with th MP9 but group size is not what I know I can shoot. Reading about the early unlocking issue made me wonder if that's the issue. For now I'll put more rounds down range off a rest to get a better read on how this pistol shoots and go from there. Maybe more practice with this or maybe a barrel issue. |

2.0 Compact should be a great shooter. From your post - (grip issue) you don't sound all that experienced with handguns. Suggestion - have someone else give it a Go and see if the issue is the arrow or the Indian. Also you might try a few different brands & bullet weights to find what YOUR pistol likes best. Every gun will have some loads it loves & others it loathes. The 1.0 accuracy was inconsistent as the earlier 1.0 guns had a slower barrel twist than was optimal. That was addressed later in 1.0 production and the 2.0 also improved the lock up for better accuracy too. Bigger_Hammer

As suggested, have some others shoot it for accuracy. My M&P 9mm compact is more accurate than my Glock 19. Speaking of Glocks, their grip angle is different than other companies and when you transition to a different model or brand of pistol you have to be mindful of the different grip angles because that may affect your aim point and accuracy. |
| I had one of those pistols pre-covid. Accuracy was mediocre like you described (mine tended to group high). I sent it back to S&W, who replicated the performance and called it good. Sold it for a 9L Performance Center pistol that was a little better. Took a close look at what was going on and looked like the barrel/slide was beginning to unlock at the slightest movement. Apex barrel cured it. |
