I like my m&p 2.0 compact a lot…except the darn hole that blows gas on my red dot. Seems like they would find a different method by which to indicate a loaded chamber. Is there an after market barrel that doesn’t have this hole? If so, any quality choices for a decent price? |

Not a barrel, but I ran a Calculated Kinetics DOGTOG optic plate on my M&P2.0 and it featured an integrated front-facing shelf (deflection table) that extends up just in front of the red dot. This acts as a blast shield to deflect hot gas, debris, and carbon buildup away from the optic's glass. https://www.calculatedkinetics.us/products/smith-and-wesson-m-p-2-0-dogtag-optic-plate May be cheaper than buying a whole barrel to solve this issue. I do not recall having much gas getting onto my RMR glass while running their plate. Though I never saw if it gets bad while running suppressed. If going the barrel route, might as well pony up and get an APEX gunsmith fit barrel at that point, but yes pricey. |
