So, I just traded in a Kimber Pro Carry II that I bought way back in 2006 on a Kimber khx Ultra. It only came with one magazine and I’d like to get a few more. On the Pro Carry II, I just had the Kimber mag it came with and a spare Pro Mag. My question is, should I get a couple Kimber mags or should I go with a couple Wilson Combat mags? Is there much of a difference? What’s your experience with both?

I have had great luck with the Ed Brown 7 round compact / officer mags in my ultra.

The stock Kimber mag was a nice KimPro magazine and that one worked great too.

Just my limited experience.

I've found that a WC47D will do well for you, as it has in my Desert Warrior and also in my alloy frame 1911's, where I'd say they are an absolute necessity, and having them to use in steel frame guns is a bonus.

The 47D is for a full size. I'm needing the compact. Not sure if the Wilson's are worth the extra $11 per mag or if the Kimbers are nice enough quality. From the first response, sounds like the Kimbers should be good to go.

I missed reading the transition from the ProCarry II (a fullsized frame) to the new compact last night, but you can get this 7rd for compact frames: https://shopwilsoncombat.com/MAGAZINE-1911-45-ACP-COMPACT-7-ROUND-LO-PROFILE-STEEL-BASE-PAD/productinfo/47OXC/ and extended 8rd https://shopwilsoncombat.com/MAGAZINE-1911-45-ACP-COMPACT-8-ROUND-LO-PROFILE-OM-STEEL-BASE-PAD/productinfo/47DOX/ .

These (or the blackened versions) are what I have been using in both in my New Agent and my CCO:

The thing I'm looking at most is that the Wilson Combat follower won't slip up and gouge the aluminum feedramp, unlike others can.

OK. Sounds like those may be a good option. I like the idea of the 8 round mag as well. Thanks.

I'm guessing you've bought from this site before? I'm always leery about odd websites. Lol. I see they offer a WC compact mag that holds 8 rounds, but the actual Wilson Combat site does not offer that...

Their site is fine, but you can always shop around and find better deals. Wilson's main site (where the pistols, etc. are shown) redirects to the "shopwilson" website for magazines, and all of the 6,7, and 8 rd compact mags are on submenus from this page:https://shopwilsoncombat.com/45-ACP-Compact-Magazines/departments/373/

Try Midway and you'll pay $40.95 for the 7rd SS 47OXC (same body as a 47OX, but with a low profile steel base plate) https://www.midwayusa.com/product/100622236?pid=869898 ,

or  $35.95 for the 7rd SS 47OX (plastic baseplate) and $29.95 for the 8rd SS 47DOX (lo-pro steel baseplate) at https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1006219936?pid=161205 and then selecting the capacity and finish from the dropdown menus.
