Are the magazines cross compatible between generation and compact and full-size? Even though I live in a state that allows full-size magazines the pistols sold locally only have a 10 or 13 round magazine. I want to use the 16 and 22 round magazines. I just wanna make sure they’re designed to fit in the 10 round Guns even if they sick out of the grip. Also it looks like they are sold out everywhere I look online. Any source for factory mags? |

Yes, all the mags interchange except for the TX22 compact 10/13rd mags will not fit the full size frame, to short. For the full size TX22, the 10,16 and 22rd mags use the same body so they all fit. The 22rd will extend below the grip. All of these mags will also work in the compact frame but will extend past the grip. The tx22 full size 10rd mags are simple to convert to 16 rd by removing the little thumb stud load assist. Or, if you really want the load assist, simply extend the channel with a dremel or even a file would do it. Last thing you need to do is shorten the base plate lock insert so the follower moves down far enough. I dont recall the the measurements but the 10rd base plate insert is about 2" long and needs to be about 1/2" long to give the follower enough room for 16rds. The 10rd spring is the same length as the 16rd spring. As for mag availability, with FRT fever turning into a pandemic  extra mags are hard to find right now... |

The thumb stud not only assists loading it acts as a follower stop as it rides in its channel cut into each mag body. In the case of the TX22 10rd mags, this channel is shortened so the thumb stud can actually limit capacity. |
