Is there a secret in getting them damn things off?  I looked in the case the gun came in and there's no wedge.  A credit card didn't help.  I don't want to destroy the grips incase I don't like the vz grips

Spread them with 2 cards, one on each side. They don’t pull straight off, the pin follows a curve as they slide on. Slide the bottom of the grips slowly towards the front of the gun as you pull them down.

So the only thing holding the grips on are friction and the little roll pin that goes through the bottom of the frame?

If you want to use them again, call Hogue and have them send you a tool. It’s free and takes about three days.

Otherwise, you can pry them off pretty easily with a flathead screwdriver as long as you protect the finish on your firearm.

I got em off with a credit card and a thin puddy knife.  What a pain in the dick

If these are like similar Hogue grips, get the wedge.  Even with the wedge they can be a challenge.

The wedge makes it easy.  Faster than unscrewing a grip.  Use the wedge to help put it back on, too.

Be careful not to use the wedge at the bottom edge/back of the grip frame.  You will beat up the front edges of the wedge on the pin that sticks through the grip frame.
