| It seems to be clean and seller says it shoots well. Right now we are doing the price dance. He says he's had it for 15 plus years and wants me to make an offer. That's why I'm looking for an approximate price for a starting point, I don't want to over offer. |

If yours Luger is reblued -which I'm leaning toward, it appears to have been well done because many times the reblueing polishing process removes the crispness of the stamps, making them look shallow or rounded off, but yours look sharp. The natural machine edges are also often rounded out in the process too. What's the story on the two grips? The plastic ones are VOPO grips and the wood grips are way too sharp to be from WW2. Your Luger is a byf code 1942-manufactured gun, of which an estimated 89,000 were made. If yours is indeed reblued, I'd say it is still in the $1800~$2000 range because of its condition and all the parts matching. If that is the original finish - $2000~$2300. If the magazine matched, $2300~$2500. Make sure it not import marked anywhere - several importers have used very well hidden markings inside frames and along the bottom of mag wells. Lasers allow them to make the markings super small as well and fit onto tiny edges. Although I understand but disagree, even the most hidden import marks reduce collector value.
