Just got my Sig factory optic cut slide. Has their Pro optic cut. Attached File Attached File I understand the pro cut is delta point pro pattern. So Sig Romeo x pros, vortex defender series etc will fit Do any of these optics have Co-witness with the standard height x-ray sights? I also understand RMR pattern optics will fit but the literature says requires a “sealing plate”. I know the original RMR had an open bottom because that’s where the battery mounted, and the sealing plate made it waterproof. For other rmr pattern optics that are not bottom battery, is the sealing plate still required? I understand likely so as the plates will have recoil lugs as well Is my understanding on all this correct? Want to make sure I don’t buy the wrong shit |

Only RMR requires a sealing plate, RCR, RMR HD and SRO do not. I wouldn't mount an RMR directly into that pocket, it has no index posts/lugs to keep it from shifting laterally and rotating for RMR, not for DPP either for that matter, recoil and any impact will transfer to the screws. While DPP screws are M4 are partially threaded and stronger, RMR's 6-32 screws are shorter and fully threaded, neither should be taking on the responsibility of lugs. You should use a plate with index posts/lugs for mounting an RMR footprint sight, it'd raise the installed height but it's far more secure than mounting directly into this particular SIG pocket. |
Get the Sig RomeoX (I prefer the enclosed version). Great optic with multiple reticle options that fits perfectly and will co-witness with the standard height factory sights...
