Kahr P380 w/ crimson trace laser Pricey, but worth it for deep conceal. Kahr does small pistols well. Pictured next to a standard Bic lighter for size reference. It is surprisingly easy to grip, unlike an LCP. Very good trigger compared to the LCP/P3AT also.  |

Bought one just like it new . . . back in the day it was introduced, just before the Clinton/Brady Assault Ban law took effect that also banned pistol magazines over ten rounds. This gun had just been introduced to compete for a government bid for full size service 9mm automatics when the magazine ban was rolled out . . . and Browning did NOT have backup quantities of high-capacity magazines to "grandfather" in. Thus, with only 10 round mags, a full size steel framed 9mm was simply unappealing.
Fast––forward to last weekend . . . I went into a gun shop and discovered an almost "like new" BDM "Practical" (the rare and beautiful, optional duo-toned version) like I'd had before. I'd always admired its grip profile and the price was right (including its original box, manuals, the pistol AND a 15 -round high cap. magazine). I always liked how this thing "carried" and how it felt in my hands. It shot well yesterday . . . so maybe I've returned to an "old friend." Time will tell! And here it is, a Browning Dual Mode (BDM) pistol from about 18-20 years ago . . . and the discoloration on the slide is just because it was a tad dirty/oily after getting home from the range.

Went to the local funstore here that I don't normally visit in hopes of finding an OD 26,19 or 34 but since I don't have a black 26 I figured I would pick this up. Ended up running me 419.99 made in March 2010. It was used looks like less than 500 rounds through it. Its my first 26 but my 5th Glock, so think I managed a good deal?

Haven't seen one of those for a long time. I remember when the gun rags had articles about it and then it disappeared. I think the company didn't make it and went out of business.

I have a P-64 myself. It is just a range toy due to the terrible double action, but it is fun to show people it and say "This was Poland's idea of a military and police combat pistol once upon a time." |
