Used and modded are gonna affect your price. I bought a new unfired series I classic custom two years ago for $600. I’ve paid as much as $900 for a new unfired 10-8 series 1 classic custom. Over the years, I’ve bought probably 8 or more series 1 classic customs, and never paid more than $700 except for the 10-8 model because of uniqueness. Assuming it is in excellent condition, I wouldn’t expect more than $700. |

I have a Kimber Custom series 1 from 1996. I got it the day my oldest son was born. It's been shot, carried and modified through out the years and there's no way I would every sell it. I think the Series 1 pistols had better QA and the builders paid better attention to detail. |

I just purchased a Series 1 Compact Custom that is an absolute beautiful firearm. Also built in 1998. I would rate it as a 9 out of 10. The only reason for it being a 9 is it has been fired. The finish on it is absolutely flawless, and it is all stock, even has the Chip McCormic Shooting Star Mags, stock wood grips, case, all paperwork and accessories. I paid $1200.00 for it and I know of another not as nice as mine the seller wants $1675.00, and will probably get it from a collector. The early Kimbers were hand fitted and built with McCormic and Wilson parts. These guns are very desirable to collectors. So any of the pre 1999 examples are sought after because of the aforementioned details, they are considered semi custom builds. I also recently purchased a Series 1 Eclipse Target, built in 2000, it was NOS and the case still had the factory seal on it. It had never been opened. I also paid $1200.00 for it. Series 1 Kimbers are a much better gun than the Series 2, and have become very collectable. |
I have one of the first stainless Kimber Custom Target models. They didn't have all stainless parts to get them in production, so some of the bits are blued.  It doesn't matter what it is worth, I will never sell it.  |
