| Call out to my WI brothers. Anybody know of a dealer around Central WI. that has Kahr pistols in stock to handle? I'm trying to decide between a CW9 or the PT9 for concealed carry. I know the CW9 would work great but if the PT9 is small enough I like the 4" barrel and longer sight radius benefits of the PT9. I'm 6' 2' and around 250lbs so it shouldn't be an issue for either but would really like some hands on before plunking down the mulla. |

The TP9 is a great carry gun for me. I've got two, an old one on a P9 frame and a newer one with the longer grip frame. The longer grip frame is very slightly harder to conceal, but being able to comfortably fit my whole hand on the gun is worth it to me. I'm 6'3"/290 and wear 2XL gloves. The grip is actually barely big enough for me. Big enough to shoot well, small enough to conceal easily is a great combination, and the trigger is not an issue since I learned to shoot handguns with DA revovlvers.
If you are new to Kahr pistols, break in a new one with 200-300 rounds of hot ammo. WWB and similar bargain range ammo will likely have you ready to take it back. Winchester 9mm NATO is a good start. Kahr really does mean it about the break-in period Pro-tip: a large number of 1911 holsters will fit the 9/.40 Kahrs quite well. This can get you carrying while you look for the "perfect" holster. Sorry I can't help you on a local stocking dealer, but Cabela's (and probably Bass Pro) carry them. You might want to consider the CW/CT models, just plan on replacing the sights. Dawson Precision offers several options specifically for these models. I got both of my TPs used for good prices or I would have probably have gone this route. |
