I'm 95% that I need to do this, but I don't want to.... So I took the K6S to the range to sight it in under more controlled conditions than when I first got the sights put on and just took it to the woods. Cleaning the gun post range, the rear sight slid out of the dovetail. I'm going to venture a guess that the smaller of the two round circles is a set-screw, and that means I need to disassemble the rear sight to get to it. Yes... and use thread locker. There is likely a spring and detent ball for the elevation screw. Get a gallon ziplock bag and disassemble with the sight in the bag. If something launches when the elevation screw is removed you will capture that part. |
So... I find comfort in the fact that if Trump has to work so hard to go to Heaven, then there is a shit load of Democrats that have no f-cking chance to go anywhere but HELL. Sometimes it is entirely appropriate to kill a fly with a sledge-hammer.

Put it on the set-screw threads, in the dovetail, or both? |

I always use blue. I have a SIG Sauer TTT 1911. Several years ago the rear sight drifted out of the dovetail. I forget if there was a set screw, but I do remember this, I put Loctite in the dovetail. It never drifted out again. That was over 20 years ago. If in the future you want to remove the rear sight for and reason you may need to remove the elevation screw and put heat on the set screw to soften the Locktite. |

I had the same experience, even after re-tightening. By that time, the set-screw left a mark in the frame, and I used that "bulls-eye" to drill a small divot in the frame, which now gives the set screw something a bit better to hold onto. Hasn't moved since. |
