Came across the EAA GIRSAN MC28SA 9MM TITANIUM TUTONE for $290. It looks like a really nice Glock Copy. My buddy is looking for a quality low priced HG. Any replies are appreciated. |

Enough over pressure could just as likely cause that with a whole raft of striker fired designs. We need the details! @Capt_Destro |

If you need more than 8 rounds in a 1911 to solve your problem, you need friends with rifles.

Seriously, a tractor dealer from Possum Trot, KY has to explain this to you, a lawyer? - JPL

We need the details! @Capt_Destro Just something I stumbled across last year. IIRC the back plate was plastic with no reinforcement. From what I read the striker channel design doesn't have any other openings iirc? So this made the pressure from the kaboom a bit worse than other handguns. I could be wrong on that. If I had to go Turkish I'd go with a different model imo. Girsan makes some decent stuff as long as it's a M9 or 1911 clone. @OP I'd get the Canik or Sarsilmaz SAR9 on a budger if you are buying Turkish. For budget American brands: PSA Dagger, S&W SDVE/Ruger Double Stack/Beretta APX for a cheap 9mm. https://www.ar15.com/forums/general/Turkish-handgun-kaboom-Have-we-done-this-yet-/5-2435458/&page=2 |

Polishing the internals makes for an extremely smooth trigger pull. Grip is very VP9 like. |

It's pretty much a Glock frame with a VP9 Grip, that takes metal mags, which aint a bad thing I guess. Also noticed is has some Canik Esque Aesthetics. It's a very nice looking pistol. Just wish it wasn't Turkish ![]() I heard OEM ones could be a bit pricy. But you can adapt other mags to it such as Canik, and even Sig mags with a cut out. Havent purchased one but I've been doing some reading on them. |

I do not believe that pistol merely came apart at the back plate on the slide. A large part of the right side of the frame is missing. Indicative to me of a more serious failure. THAT IS WHY I ASKED FOR MORE DETAILS. Did you miss that in the picture? |

THAT IS WHY I ASKED FOR MORE DETAILS. Did you miss that in the picture? I think it happened in Turkey so we'll never really know. But like it's speculated it was a double charge/bad ammo. An aluminum slide plate could of prevented the striker assembly shooting out, or even a reinforced one glock uses. Never understood why companies will cheap out on a $5 part |

"Looks like there was a kaboom since the side of the frame is missing. " That's why I mentioned the striker in the eye. Enough pressure to blow through the breechface via the striker. |

They are more or less Walther's at heart, so you can't really go wrong with a clone of a reputable firearm. They even have a model that mimics the whole DA/SA setup of the Walther P99/S&W SW99. Or you can just go with the glock-ish version. |

It is more of a M&P clone. My advice is to pass. I purchased 2 of these(1 full size &1 compcact ) when Zenith with the importer and was selling them super cheap. I sold both. Look for a used or new SAR9 it is everything Glock is and everything Glock wishes it could be. It is internally a glock with the externals of a HK. |

I can tell you the Canik’s are nice pistols, but the price has been creeping up on them and I don’t know they they are as worth it now. I’m still curious about the Sars and the Girsans since they haven’t quite “arrived” yet like Canik has. |
