Good thread. Been kicking around the idea of a J frame/LCR for summertime shorts and t shirt carry. Normal EDC is G19 or G26 AIWB. Even G26 in a t shirt prints real bad. Grip kinda flops out. Think most of the mass being at or below the belt line with a revolver would conceal better. |

I love a good J frame. I’ve had a couple over the years, and used to carry one as a BUG back in the day. Recently I got the hankering for one again and started to do a little research about them which led me to the new UC lineup. Picked up one of the 642 UC the other day. My main carry gun is a Glock 26 with an RMR CC, but it’s nice to have a smaller deep concealment option for quick on-the-go stuff like running to the store, checking the mail, etc. along with non-permissive environments. For me, it has a role to fill during those situations where I’d otherwise leave the house unarmed. They certainly have limitations as a platform, but a lot of that can be mitigated with lots of practice and good situational awareness. Attached File |

I would bet a longer barreled setup would actually help. G26 has all the bulk of the 19 and no barrel really like id bet a g17 conceals better to some degree |

I have a 365, it's great, but I totally get this ^ I know people fuss over "but on paper they-" In reality, the J-frame carries easier than the specs on paper suggest. For the record i'm certainly not a boomer (mid 30s), but I grew up primarily shooting revolvers from my dad's collection, and i'm very competent with them. I left LE in November 2022 after almost a decade. Never once have I felt under-gunned in lower threat environments with a J-frame, as most defensive engagements are over in a matter of seconds with only a handful of rounds fired. On the occasion that I ventured into a higher threat environment (mall, movie theater, bad area, etc) I would always make the effort to carry a G19 and an extra magazine on my person that day. I think a lot of people confuse LE-duty gun reality with civilian CCW encounter reality LEOs run into trouble, usually because someone called them. They're showing up with a criminal who is losing their mind, and doesn't want to go back to jail. They're giving their A-game, they have no intention of "losing", and they hate cops. That's different from the guy who believes he's getting paid, and is waving a gun around you because you wants _______ from you, and he does not realize you're armed. That first round going off and coming their way is a very jarring thing if they don't expect it. |

| I've been using a Garret Industries silent thunder for over 10 years. Weak point is the clip, I've had 2 break, but they just send me a new one. I want to try a JM Custom, looks to be a bit slimmer with no leather lining. I'm not concerned with finish wear on a carry gun. |

I wear an untucked button down more often than not, so no issues there. |

I got a notice from Midway last Friday, The 405's showed up this Friday along with an Apex duty kit. I'd put an Apex FP in my 632UC when I'd first gotten it for reliability's sake then after a couple hundred rd's I put in a Wolff 12lb rebound spring which was a noticeable improvement but, I'd figured I'd try apex springs so, I put it together yesterday and largely vetted the kit and zeroed the laser. 75 rd's of Mag tech with 1 needing to be hit twice but had a good hit the first time, 50 rd's of Federal 95gr LSWC, 20 Critical Defense and 24 LR WC, all except the 1 MT ran great. After trying several pairs of grips, I just went with the 405's, they work well on my 38, pocket as well or better than most anything else and for me, pretty much maximize the useful potential of a pocket snub, not as good looking but 100% functional. I'm gonna run it some more and if no issues show up, call it GTG. |

637 Airweight in a JM4 Tactical magnetic holster whenever I'm wearing drawstring pants/shorts or similar. The magnetic holster provides good retention for the revolver and keeps the holster secured to the waistline when drawing. Light and compact, easy to conceal.

I carry a 638 at work every day, off body in a vertx bag. It resides in an AL kydex pocket holster in the bag. When I leave the office I move it from the bag to my pocket. As someone else already stated, the j frame’s weight is what makes it more attractive that a micro semi pistol with a higher capacity. My 638 nearly disappeares in my office work attire. |

S&W 442 Airweight Yup but mainly as a work in the yard gun for Nope Ropes (Copperheads). Usually first 2 rounds are snakeshot then holllwpoints. Sometimes carry in my pocket in a Kramer pocket holster Attached File |
