Just curious if anyone knows more about these and what changes were made through our each generation? I have two Surplus pistols made by IMI. I have slowly been collecting spare parts. I noticed that the 2 stock safety levers will lock the slide when the safety is on. Similar to how a CZ75 will lock the slide in battery. However the replacement safety lever I picked up does not engage the safety cut out on the slide, but still blocks the sear. The safety lever in question is not broken or defective. The safety lever in question also uses the old type spring/"shield" detent. I was just curious about when these changes were possibly made? Newer IWI slides do not have a safety cut on the slide. I was able to get a newer IWI slide to work on an IMI frame with this particular safety (the old ones are not compatible unless the slide is milled out, or if the safety is modified. Im speculating the early generation Jerichos functioned a lot like a CZ75, while later went more toward Tanfolgios function and manual of arms. Curious if it was to keep the same manual of arms/training while shifting away from the TA-90s. If anyone knows the history on these variants I'd appreciate it. I think there has been like 3 generations of the Jericho/Baby Eagle based on the frame changes. Gen 1-Steel frame. Gen 2-Steel frame with accessory rail. I don't remember if there was a polymer frame that was introduced with this gen. Gen 3-Polymer frame with accessory rail. Not sure if the steel frame is still available. And I believe that Tanfogilo is still the main subcontractor for all generations slide and frame. |
