See, I ordered a holster from a nationwide Kydex holster maker, and it vanished around Phoenix area 6 days ago. I waited a few days, watching the tracking say Phoenix, then contacted the company. They told me that they would consider issuing a refund or replacement until two weeks after I contacted them. Well, OK, it IS the USPS, I can see that, even though it makes me old man grumpy to have a new pistol with no holster.
Then they sent me a request for review. SERIOUSLY???? OK, I know it's auto generated, probability 99%, but something that says, "How do you like your new holster and send us a pic" grated kinda bad. So now I have to wait until the middle of August to see if I can get a replacement, or, far more likely, a refund. Twice in my life I have received orders from MidwayUSA that had missing items and when I called customer service, those items were on the way by the end of the phone call. Again, I understand, MidwayUSA is a huge company that can absorb losses, I know this one is smaller, but sheesh. Wanna see a pic of my new rig?

God has never made me eat crow this fast before...No more than FIVE minutes after I posted this, late afternoon AZ time, then I got pinged a delivery was at the mail box. It was here. Holy carp. First, I have never seen the USPS actually FIX a missing package before, and second, I figured if it was ever actually delievered it would either be a smashed collection of shattered junk or an empty envelope. Nope. Here it is.  And how does it fit? Perfectly. Sorry Rounded by Concealment Express, sorry for doubting you.  |

The USPS has really gone downhill. I'm still waiting on a payment from a guy in PA that was mailed 8 days ago. I had one package of AK-74 parts go missing a few months back - tracking indicated it was in the system but after a couple weeks I refunded the guys money - put a claim in to USPS and reported it as a possible theft. Eventually a competent postal employee got on the case and was able to find the package after 6weeks by following the photos of it as meandered through various postal offices - seemed to go braindead so he rerouted it to a manual system and it eventually arrived at its destination. |

I bought The Claw add-on, and I don't think it's really needed, concealed just fine under a loose t-shirt, which is the uniform of the day in AZ summer weather. Snaps in easily and solidly. I haven't used an IWB rig in a LONG time, and I could feel it.  Nice high sweat shield, also a huge plus in AZ summer weather...but I wonder how sweat resistant the COA is?  With an unloaded gun I practiced presentation drills, which is the weirdest for me, since this is my very first pistol with a red dot, and literally 50 years of "front sight, press" ingrained down to my DNA...this is taking some time. However, oddly enough, comping from the HOLSTER, I was on target dot cenetered darn near every time. Coming from the low ready...not so much, figure that out. I probably will hang on to The Claw in case I need it later, or in case someone here needs one. |

So, I asked Aimpoint directly about the COA being sweat resistant. Why not go to the source if you can, right? The anodizing on the sight will be fine. The anodizing on the turrets should be fine, but very occasionally we see some discoloration due to sweat. It will not affect the function of the sight however. I can work with that, |

Best practice for your red dot is to ignore it, line up your irons and your dot will appear in the window. Do this long enough (took me about a month) and the dot appears automatically when you draw, and faster than irons because there's nothing to line up. I'm jealous of your gun though, I'm definitely going to pick one of those up... My P10C is old enough that the Tritium has failed in the sights, which seems like a damn fine reason to replace it.

| Loling with this thread. I am watching a package skate from USPS hub to hub. Ordered 8/2 pretty much expected it by Thursday or Friday. Friday it was in Albany NY that is our regional hub where it gets shipped out to the local post offices. Saturday it was in Springfield MA where I assume they didn’t bother to unload it off the truck in Albany. Monday it was back in Albany and appears to be sitting there. |
