What have you been happy with? The GI type welded base plates have two threaded holes in them. My understanding is that's pretty much a standard for that type of mag. Is this correct? Thanks for the help. I'm kind of new to this. |

Gad I haven’t done that in years. I now buy Wilson with them attached. Long ago, when I did buy pads the dang holes did not line up with the mag holes. Maybe they do now. I marked the mag, drilled and tapped 6-32 holes and bolted them up with screws trimmed to just long enough to grab all my threads. Maybe you could use a very short self tapping screw? I was a sparky so drill/tap was easy for me. They were Wilson brand pads btw and colt 7 round mags. |

I like the Wilson / Metalform rubber basepads for welded floorplates—they’re pretty cheap, come with screws, and smidge thinner than the hard plastic wedge-style basepads (e.g., Ed Brown). They don’t always line up 100% perfect with the rear of the floorplate, but for the price / what they are it’s not really something I’m concerning myself with all that much. ~Augee |

If you have any beater mags, Ed Brown still offers their mag exchange program (your mag + $10 = new EB mag). When I got mine, they all came with a short & long base pad to add to the bottom of the mag if I so desired. They offer 7 rounders or you can buy their bumpers off the website.
