I have carried a Glock for self defense for over 20 years. I liked them for their reliability. Never liked their trigger or grip. They felt like holding a brick. But after holding a CZ P10F and trying a Canik trigger I have sold most of my Glocks!
      Anyone else dumping Glocks ???

No. That would be foolishness. Dead nuts reliable. Parts available everywhere, both stock and tuner parts. Every gun has pros and cons, but it’s hard to beat Glock when your life is on the line.

Doesn’t mean I don’t carry others and own others, but not selling the Glocks.

I had a Glock 23 blow up on me with factory Federal ammo, this was in 2002, I sold every Glock I owned

I jumped back into 9mm Glocks around 2008 and never looked back, for the reliability reasons.   I own HK, Colt, Sig but nothing runs like a Glock.

I'll keep my 2 Glocks and 6 clones, but I don't think I'll be buying any more, unless Grit Grips comes out with a 45 sized frame, maybe.
I have pretty much went back to carrying 1911s.

Good grief no. Grip and trigger complaints about GLOCK are about the most overrated thing ever. Realizability and durability trump all. GLOCK triggers have always been completely usable and have only gotten better with gen5 and onward. Even the grip on the gen6 is noticeably improved and rounded at the front, even though the previous gen's were perfectly usable as well.

I have carried Glocks for many years and although there are some aspects I dont love about them Im not jumping ship. Especially for a damn CZ.

Granted I do love some BHP, and USP's as well but Glock is my go to due to complete reliability.

I have owned and still own a considerable number of Glocks of all calibers and frame sizes.

I have never ever considered modifying the frame... until the Gen6.

If I ever obtain one, the Dremel is coming out and the beavertail is coming off!

I have never had the slightest concern with a .40 S&W kaboom. I found a simple solution... by installing a .357 SIG barrel.

However... I am supplementing my Glocks with modified P320 pistols with thumb safety mods and Agency Arms triggers with safety dongles. I do not carry anything other a revolver appendix carry!

Nope.

I’ve been around long enough to remember the Canik is just a $200 Turkish pistol that over the years has had a $400 “haha Americans are stupid” tax accumulate on it. Arex committed brand suicide the same way, and Canik is following the same error of thinking high sales are because of the design and not the cheap price tag.

The CZ P10 is underwhelming to me. I won’t say it’s a bad pistol, but there’s nothing there that appeals to me over anything else.

The gen 6 has pulled me right in.  Everything I hated about the Glock grip was addressed with the gen 6.  Trigger is still Glock but there are aftermarket triggers that can make it feel much better than stock

I dumped my 9mm Glocks but kept my G29 gen 4. I carry a Sig P365 in my pocket. I’m retired and spend most of my days in the house and around the farm. When I go to town once a week, I usually throw an extra mag in the other pocket along with my wallet. IF Glock ever made a decent pocket pistol with 10 + rounds then I might reconsider, but until then the P365 will do nicely.

I run hot and cold on the platform.  Currently have three, a Gen 3 17 because, well everyone should have a 17.  Picked up a minty used 19x just as Gen V silliness was starting.  Thought it might be a good idea.  And a 20 I carry deer hunting, 10mm is deer legal in Iowa.

I don't especially like the grip on a Glock.  Recently have jumped into the RMX pool.  The Magpul frame is subtly different and in my  opinion much better.

Own most of the other stuff.  Smith, Sig, HK,Beretta, Walther, even Taurus (hey it works).  I've never been one to concentrate  on one make or model.

Glocks work, I have nothing against them.  Owned a half a dozen over the years.  I just like other stuff better.

The Springfield Echelon fits my hand and points more naturally than a Glock.
But I'm keeping my Glocks. Have a lot of training & trigger time with them. That is a factor that you really need to consider. Please see SigLine below.

I, like many vet's naturally transitioned to Glocks because of our experience with worn out M9's and for a period of time they made sense, despite never really liking shoot them.

I dipped my toe into the 2011 world last year and have since dumped my Glocks as in 2026, they are simply not very good pistols compared to everything else on the market,

Everything is reliable, everything is way more ergonomic, everything is available with a comp'd or threaded barrel and near match trigger.

Theres no objective data in 2026 that shows Glocks to be any more reliable that any of the competitors polymer striker fired pistols that have been award service pistol contracts worldwide. CZ's HK's, Sig's and S&W's have all been selected ahead of Glocks.

I picked up a springfield echelon last week and its a very good pistol.

I now have all Gen 5 Glocks, a 19, 34, 17L, and a 20. They are going nowhere. I will eventually get a Gen 6. Variety is the spice of life. I'm keeping my Glocks, Berettas, Springfields, HKs, CZs, Rugers. I have room in my heart for all of them.

Glocks are good for what they were designed for. A lightweight high capacity inexpensive pistol that's very reliable and simple to use. It sure isn't sexy in any way, haha. I mean it's an ugly brick. Yeah the sights and trigger and ergos kind of suck compared to other pistols. Like a custom 1911 for instance blows it out the water. But one is cheap and the other is expensive. For combat the Glock is a solid choice. For target shooting yeah give me that 1911.

I am too, but only on the earlier generations.

The G6 is a really really good gun.  Once FCD has a plate out for my RMR HD's and I can snag a G6 GPT, it will be absolutely stellar.

I never got into Glock. I have 8 of them, but much prefer other designs that feel better and shoot better for me.

The 48 is my favorite size, can't hit shit with it.
The 40 is a nice shooter, but the bulge destroys brass.

The G5 19 is a great gun, but bigger than I want to carry.

No I haven't given up on owning Glocks, probably won't buy another. Unless a good deal comes along.

I carry a Hellcat or a LCR.

Traded my non MOS G48 for a Shield X, been happy with it.   I may pick up another Glock at some point 43X MOS for maybe stashed around the house gun.  I still have a few 15 rnd magazines from the G48 I kept, as this is Commie WA I figured why not.

  Didn't hate the gun though!

Sold my G19 ten or twelve years ago and got Smith M&Ps. Have four of those, plenty of mags, and a box of spare parts now. Haven't even considered getting another Glock. Wife carries a G26 if I ever get the itch. If I get another pistol, it'll be an additional 1911.

I never got into Glocks in the first place. I own about eight of them, but I only keep them mostly as just range toy curiosities because of their history and market significance. For whatever reason, they have terrible ergonomics for my hands.

I've tried to like the Glock. On paper, there's a lot to like. Though the Gen 5 is the best of them for me and I haven't tried a Gen 6 yet, I just never could shoot a Glock of any generations as well as I'd prefer.  I own 1911s, Beretta 92s, BHPs,CZ-75s, P10C, P07, P99, P320s, PDP,PX4s, S&W M&Ps. Compared to a G17 or G19, I can shoot any of them more accurately and faster.

I've tried the G43, P365 and S&W Shield. I never liked the G43. I carried the Shield for years and my current EDC is a P365.

I think the Glock reliability thing is legend, but overrated.  It was probably true in the 90's and early 2000's (and there were other legendarily reliable guns, for example the Sig P229/P226 series guns or the USP), but Glock has stood still while the rest of the market caught up.

I had a membership and purchased blue label.
Always take a variety of pistols to the range and swap between them.
Even if shooting rapidly, I could switch from pistol to pistol and keep my times the same......until switched to a Glock.
Their grip angle differs enough where I would have to regain sight alignment.
Sold all the glocks.

People get all kinds of hung up on stuff that doesn’t matter.

Yes, Glocks are very reliable. So are just about every pistol put out by the major manufacturers.

Yes, parts are pretty readily available for Glocks. But see above. It’s a moot point because you generally don’t need any. For Glocks or others.

Yes, Glocks have different grip angles, so-so triggers, and blocky ergonomics. Some people prefer the angle, and if you can’t be accurate with a so-so trigger, you need to work on your fundamentals.

Liking Glocks can be a good, rational thing. Disliking Glocks can be a good, rational thing. Ultimately, most pistols these days have only very minute differences. They’re likely to be polymer framed, striker fired, thumb mag release, tilting/locking barrel. They all fire the same bullets; none are any deadlier than another.

You’re not doing something heroic not using a Glock, and you’re not a genius because you do.

Keeping a few in the safe just because, but will unlikely ever buy another Glock -- too many better options out there, especially for slim gun carry.  My P365 X-Macro outshoots my G19s (at least for me), all day, everyday -- and it's good to go out of the box.

I’ve owned Glocks since 1991 and have carried many over the years. Gen 3 G34 was my house gun for over a decade. They filled a role and did it well for many years.

Now I’m down to a single one, an Agency Arms G43, that has been my summer carry for 5 years or so.  Accurate and reliable as they come.

I could be convinced to trade it off for the right deal 🤓

I like GLOCK even though I am usually carrying something different these days.

Strapped on my old 3rd Gen G19 the other day for grins and was perfectly okay with it, and may start toting it more. It is one of those with the nickel/boron slide and barrel from the early 2000s, and I always thought those were kind of neat.

The biggest problem with getting hipster pistols is lack of support from holster and other accessory manufacturers.

I love the P10C but despite the claim CZ made when they first came out, no they don’t fit most Glock 19 holsters. Finding CZ specific holsters can be frustrating, not that they aren’t made, just that my preferred holster companies often don’t make them.  If they do, they might not have different light or red dot sight options I require.  I can however get a Glock holster that’s made for any light combo made whether IWB, OWB, with any level of retention, red dot, etc.

If I want Glock aftermarket flat triggers, extended slide stops, different mag releases, mag funnels, magazine baseplates, etc, there’s also tons of options.

Try that with your Canik or CZ.

honestly how much support do you need from after market support for a CZ P10C, its availble from the factory with a standard, ported or threaded barrel, it is available in a compition model as being optic ready. it has significantly more aggressive grip texture and a larger ambi mag release.

I think you comment about holsters was valid 9 years ago, but in 2026, I am not sure this is a valid concern. How many holsters do you need for a new release pistol, Personally, i would rather run a next generation pistol with enchanced featture set in a universal holster for 6 months rather than default to a 30 year old design with the perfect holster.

Everthing has trade offs.

Nope, not getting rid of my Glocks.  They hit that sweet spot of gun and parts cost, aftermarket support like a Harley Davidson, simplicity and reliability.

Started with Glocks in the 90's, and practiced a lot to get past the feeling of the blocky grip and staple gun trigger.  I've found for me, the blocky nature of the Glock grip allows me a more solid purchase on the grip than with pistols using a more ergo friendly rounder grip.  I've heard it explained as .....hold a 2x4 and twist it in your grip, vs something rounder like a baseball bat and twist it in your grip.  The 2x4 will allow for a lot better control in the grip as it twists.   I have other pistols with a more rounded grip that I have a harder time with controlling the gun from twisting in my hands.

Back in the 90's and into the 2000's, I don't remember Glocks being known for great service pistol accuracy, .....good but not great.  Pistols like the Sig P226, Beretta 92, HK USP , Walther P99....were very accurate.  The Gen 4's, and then especially the Gen 5's really ticked up the accuracy capability to be on par with other offerings.

I have examples of pistols from a variety of makes, and like them all.  Some I like more than others, but the Glocks are staying.

Lots of great choices in pistols these days.  If the Glocks don't work for you, not a big deal and go with what does.

I think people get too tied up in making a peice of equipment there identify, people do this with everything from Trucks to Gulf Clubs, to Opics to Guns and everything in between  and any attach on their perfered equipment is an attack on them personally.

Glocks work, they are used by everyone from retarded Iraq traffic cops and Chicago drill rappers to tier 1 operators. They have largely remained unchanged in 40 years and offers their end user a  reliable pistol that requires nothing to think about.

I shot glocks for probably 10 years and thought they were the be all end all pistol, but more recently, in the last 10 years, everything else has got very good and offer better triggers, ergonomics, triggers and configurations.

this doesnt make glocks bad, it just a less interesting choice in 2026.

I wanted a comp'd, optic ready pistol with a decent trigger, Walther, Springfield, CZ, and S&W met these requirements.

Dump might be a harsh way to put it, but I’ve definitely moved on… When the V and the gen 6 were announced I gave them some thought about upgrading. But then I remembered that I’ll still have to contend with the fucked up grip angle, and on top of a $600 pistol i’ll need to add at least another $100 to upgrade the trigger, another $150 for proper back up sights, and another $150- 200 to get the slide milled for a direct optic fit.

Glocks are accurate and reliable, but there is now way too many alternatives on the market that match or beat them in almost every category to force myself to deal with that horrible grip angle, and those options are generally a little cheaper.
