Picked up a new 9mm Operator to make an ohmage to Larry Snickers MOH Warfighter 1911. SA is producing some damn good production frame to slide fits as there is very little play. Might change once the cerakote wears off. Does have some rear of slide overhang, but surprisingly, the extractor is blended pretty nice. Has the typical disconnector hang up, but the trigger isn't bad. Probably around 5lbs. Going to shoot it a bit then send it to Nighthawk for some work.

I have 3 Operators. The only thing I really needed to do to mine was checker the front straps. Very nice guns but I wish Springfield would do it at the factory. Does anyone prefer a smooth front strap on a 1911? Good luck with it. Eta-I also add flat triggers, just personal preference. |

MOH Warfighter clone... that'll be awesome! Can't wait to see it when it's finished. What are your plans for specs? Going crazy and using WC BP parts, solid short trigger, Vickers VZ's? I have a Colt Classic in 9mm at NHCS right now, Way of the Gun "clone" project! |

Honestly I hate SA 20 LPI, but if they had offered the TRP as Iron's only, I would have bought one as it was almost exactly how I wanted it. |

I have learned not to buy smooth front strap guns with expensive finishes. I much prefer stainless, blued, or painted guns because the frontstrap can be checkered without an expensive refinish. Now if a gun comes the way I like, bring on the hard chrome and PVD. But there aren’t too many that I don’t want to improve somehow. I’ll also usually pass on a 1911 that has a loose barrel fit on the lower lugs, especially when it also has too much frame to slide clearance. I’m ok with fitting a tight match barrel, but if the slide isn’t tight enough, it bothers me… I hate a rattling 1911. |

Sending mine off to Evolution Armory for some work this week, it's going to be "super" when it comes back.    |
