The G2 & G3 series Are still on the Taurus website. The G3 series is an approved G2, but sales are still strong for the G2 as they are slightly less expensive. I was really interested in a fullsize G3 until I got to try out the trigger. It was a lightweight and a pull longer than my ex girlfriend's tiddies  Honestly, it's also the problem I have with the SIG P365 and P320. But I've been shooting Glocks for 30 years along with DA/SA & DAO third generation S&Ws. I'm not saying the triggers are bad, they just weren't for me. |

The newest G3 series also are fully compatible with Glock sights. Which means you have a huge amount of aftermarket options. Earlier G3 series used different sights. I am a fan that they are willing to offer slightly different versions such as the G3XL and G3X. G3XL is a compact frame of the G3C with the longer slide of the G3. G3X is the longer frame of the G3 with the shorter slide of the g3c. Both of those versions also do not have a manual safety. While they stock manual safety is rather low profile, some of us would prefer to have no manual safety at all. Unfortunately, the G3XL and G3X are not available as a TORO version. So if you wanted that, you would have to buy multiple guns and swap slides (something I consider doing during the great Taurus rebate at the end of the year, but before I had a chance to test the triggered personally). |

G2 is Taurus’ lowest cost striker fired gun. Has double strike capability which is cool but makes the trigger pull long and heavier than I’d like. G3 is an improved version of the G2. Gas nitride finish instead of black oxide. Better internal finishes as well. Compatibility with Glock sights. Available in slightly larger sizes as well. G2c is like a subcompact and the g3 is available as the g3c, G3 which is more like a compact, and g3 tactical is more full sized. GX4 line is a completely different gun. Much more like traditional strikers fired guns were used too. Glock like trigger. Glock sights, nitride finish DLC coated internals and barrel. But only available as a slim line gun like the P365 family. There’s a carry and an XL version which have larger configurations. Available optics ready. Fantastic gun for the price. Taurus just launched the GX2 to replace the G2c. It’s like a larger defeatured GX4. Stainless barrel. Wider. Larger. Fantastic trigger though and Glock sight compatibility. I don’t know if the slide is gas nitride or black oxide though. No optics versions. Hopefully they make some larger frames versions and optics ready to replace the G3 as well |
