How many guns do you regularly carry? (Page 1 of 2)

Often times, people refer to their "rotation" when it comes to what handguns they carry. i have several that are ideal for me for carry regarding size, capacity and shootability. They include a M&P9 Carry Comp, HK VP9, Shadow Systems MR920P, Ruger RXM and a M&P9C 1.0. All of them are striker fired so its not too difficult to go from one to the other. I genuinely enjoy carrying them all. They are all similar in size so what i choose to carry isnt really clothing-dependent. Literally just what strikes my fancy that day. Just wondering if you tend to just stick to one piece for carry or like to mix it up. Thanks |

I almost always carried my LCR .327. Hiking in suburban areas, I may upgrade to the P226. I've accidentally run across unsavory characters in Fairfax County and City of Fairfax because of both Fairfax's failures to prevent and remove dangerous repeat offenders. I've grown out of "rotation theory," but haven't carried in awhile due to a health condition that spooked me because I almost lost consciousness.  |

All I've carried in the last couple of years is a Shield Plus (concealed carry). No reason, right now, to carry anything else. Open carry on my property is a 1.0 M&P 9MM 5" with 19+1. If the dims do get their anti US Constitution crap signed into law by the thousands of votes found a memory stick at 0200 hrs. woman my EDC concealed will be a 1.0 subcompact .40 and open carry will be the 2.0 .45 acp Compact. If I'm limited to a small number of rounds they're going to be bigger ones. No use in carrying a pistol with a longer grip frame to accommodate a magazine with a big empty spot at the bottom. Yeah, I know, 10 round mags. for the Shield Plus are easy to get but it's still 10 small rounds per magazine. We need some laws that say if politicians and/or judges breach the US Constitutions there will be jail time and big fines if they're name is on the paperwork for the laws they push. |

| I'm a "gun guy" and like to carry different things. It really depends on what I'm into that determines what I carry. Right now, I'm into the Classic Sig P series guns. So locally, I'll carry a P220 in 9mm or .45. If I'm going to town, I carry a dbl. stack 226 in 9mm. If it's nighttime, I'll make sure the gun has N/S. When I travel, it's usually my G19 or G23. Around the house, it's my G43X w/15 round mag. Gym clothes fanny pack gun is a Walther P99. And I always have a small revolver with me as a BUG when I leave the house. |

Most common are a S&W M&P 2.0 Compact or a CZ P07 if I feel the need for capacity. If more concerned about concealment it's either a Gen 1 Shield 9 with Magguts +2 extensions carrying 9+1, a Shield 45 3.3" with tritium sights, or a Shield 45 4" Performance Center. |

| Two in the "rotation". An Apexed M&P M2.0 full size with a Trijicon RMR HD or a bodyguard 2.0 and that is it. I find that these two pistols cover my needs well. I do want to move the full size to night stand duty and replace it with the Shield X. If I do, I think the Shield X and BG2.0 will be a dream team. |

The vast majority of the time I bounce back and forth between a J frame 442 and ruger LCPII- pocket carry in hot Arizona weather. When I do strap on a holster it is usually because I am headed to a shooting match which means the rules of the competition will dictate what I am carrying. Split even between a K frame or a glock 19 or 26 |

Most often a Glock of some flavor, G30sf, G23 or G19 in that order since they all fit in the same holsters, Occasionally a Colt LW Commander. Depending on the environment I may size down to a G26, Colt Defender or a J frame. All of them are practiced with on a regular basis but one of the above is carried every day. |

It's probably the one you spend the most time with on the range. It also simplifies UOF off duty when they do the investigation. In my AO, there's a dozen jurisdictions I could potentially have to deal with if. One of the first things they'll do is pull your training records. You know how I know that. Just trying to be helpful! Anyway. I carry a G17MOS Same-same duty. Backup is a G26. Yeah. I sleep with'em too! LOL |

Thanks I switched to the P365 because I can carry basically the same gun both in pocket and IWB using the same magazine for reload. Most importantly I can shoot the little P365 pocket gun more accurately than the 642, plus it shoots a hotter round and has more capacity. Once I solved the pocket gun problem, I switched to the 365XL for IWB, replacing the Shield. That simplifies training, where previously I had to regularly train on both the 642 and Shield which are very different from each other. Sometimes in the winter I'll augment the P365 with my old 642 (or 986 occasionally) in a coat pocket. I figure I might not have time to get the P365 out from under a coat at close contact distance. Plus I can have my hand on the gun with a firing grip and look like I'm just keeping my hands warm in the pocket. The 642 was actually my first CCW about 25 years ago (used to also carry a Colt CCO IWB back then), so it's like an old friend and I have a lot of experience shooting it. I don't carry a reload for the revolver though. If it goes empty and I still have a threat to deal with, the plan is to dig the P365 out from under the coat. I have a lot of handguns and continually buy more, but those are my CCWs and I don't rotate carry guns. I do have various other "hideaway guns" though. Those are guns that trust, I know I can shoot accurately and are reliable with carry ammo, but I don't carry on body for various reasons. I also don't switch carry ammo. I've carried 124gr HSTs for the last 15 years or so, with 124gr Gold Dots also tested as a backup just in case HSTs are unobtainable. |

I will carry either my p365xl or a g17, depending on what Im wearing that day. I clicked thinking you were asking "how many guns do you carry at once" Typically only one, but up to three if I want to bring the backpack rifle setup

Let's see. J frame, (357) 4" 686, 6" Mdl 19, (hog hunting) M&P in .40, Shield in 9mm, Keltec PMR 30, Ruger Single Six, (Stays on the tractor) S&W mdl 17,(for shooting pigeons) S&W .22 compact with suppressor. (also pigeons, but inside the horse barn) Sometimes a Browning Hi Power or a Beretta 96 if it's a dressy occasion. Really depends on what I'm doing that day. |

Sig P229 in .40 S&W in a Galco shoulder system and a Colt New Agent in .45 ACP in IWB holster with two spare mags for each. I carry the Colt at work and the Sig off work. On my short list is the S&W Bodyguard 2.0 in .380 ACP. I have a Glock 42 that I carried for years but haven't lately. |
