Local shop had a single stack Shield for $250 with five magazines (the one in it was the 8rd). I forgot they made 1.0 vs 2.0, but looking at photos, I'm sure it was 1.0. I missed getting one when they were under $200 after rebate, but it's not a bad feeling gun. 8+1 isn't the hammer of Thor, but my fullsize 17+1 gun doesn't fit in my pocket  I could always get a +1 or +2 Magguts if I really wanted a little extra capacity. Edit.... It's the non thumb safety version, which is what I would prefer. |
Froot Loops are all the same flavor. They just taste like froot. Whatever the heck that is.
| I got mine from PSA for $200 with 2 mags (7 and 9). Carrying it right meow. Other than having a manual safety, and no blade in the trigger (the trigger has a joint in the middle of the shoe) it's a decent little compact. |

I still carry an OG Shield 9mm with manual safety regularly. When I do carry it I keep the safety off. It has always been reliable and a great shooter. I put XS big dots on and use the magguts +2 kits. I carry a G42 to the office more and my Shield Plus Carry Comp with reddot around more. The Shield has been an absolutely winner of a platform for S&W. |

I stopped carrying mine when I got the Shield Plus. But lately I've been thinking about digging it out of the safe and keeping in ready for carry in some places. Sometimes it really would be a little easier to hide than the Plus. |

| Glad to see enough people find them useful. I know there was a seller on GunBroker selling Shield plus frames, and quite a few people were converting them over. It makes me wonder how many people have Shield frames just sitting around? |

Funny this thread popped up when it did. I was in the closet this morning re arranging how my clothes were set up on the bottom shelf and when I lifted a stack of sweat pants I found a stash of loaded Shield 9MM magazines. Seven of them, loaded with the 115 grain hollow points ours shot so well. I'd forgotten to dig them out and unload them. Back when I carried mine more (and my wife carried one all the time) those mags. were there so I could grab them quickly for our once a month trip to the mountains and put them in my bag so we'd have a few spare loaded mags. with us. |

I also have a 2.0 with a 4" barrel from the Performance Center, its incredibly accurate but the trigger is too light for carry IMO. It uses the same, semi single stack mags as my 3" versions. Thats a big reason I haven't went to the Shield +, I am invested in the 8 round mags. |

I still have a 1.0 OG Shield I carry for beater "weekender" use outdoors. I mostly carry a newer Shield Plus for normal use, but the old Shield 1.0 gets the nood if I'm getting sweaty or dirty or wet. Cutting the lawn. It is my canoe & camping carry too. Afterwards it gts a dunk in some WD 40 w/ a toothbrushing and then ready for the next adventure or task. It has been a very loyal & wonderful friend for over a decade of heavy use. Bigger_Hammer
