I'm looking at getting one. For $300 more I could get a Springfield emissary. am I going to regret going with the girsan? Are there any issues with their 1911s? ETA: so I ordered one and it came in at the local shop (it was their item from their warehouse) so I go in to pick it up and they bring out a fishing tackle box from the back room. I'm like WTF? So it has a sticker on it that says "hooked on EAA" and includes a free fishing lure in the tackle box. So the employee tries to open the slide to check the chamber before handing it to me. She can't get the slide open. So I was able to see that the hammer was at half cock and the safety was half on thus blocking the slide from cycling and the hammer could neither be cocked or dropped. Between my self and 2 employees we figured out that the thumb safety has 3 positions. If you can get it cleared, you can cycle the slide and put it on safe, then if you try to move it to fire it will hit a distinct detent that is half off where it will drop the hammer to half cock if the trigger is pulled and also won't let the slide cycle, it also gets jammed up in this position where it takes much messing with it to get it to be able to do anything. If you start at condition 1, if you can get it there, you have to click through the first detent to the second detent to get it to fire. The store admitted they could see it was messed up and told me they'll get a different one sent in. Not very confidence inspiring.
