I got tired of the magazine base plate giving me blood blisters when doing fast mag changes so I decided to try a magwell on the gun. I wear large to extra large gloves depending on the brand so average man hands I'd say. There are several manufacturers out there for magwells but I figured why not go to the guy who supposedly designed the Dagger frames- anyone feel free to correct me if I was misinformed. On top of that, it's a South Carolina business, it's 6061-T6 aluminum instead of those crappy looking 3D printed ones I saw on Etsy and eBay, they offer two styles (what they call a "strip cut out" for stripping out mags and a solid one), different colors to match the frames, listed as working with various base plates and extensions and it's reasonably priced (varies slightly by finish). Shipping was quick but I'm right up the road and the parts came packaged in a padded envelope. Insert the base piece, put the magwell on and assemble with the tiny screw. Simple and it fits very well with no gaps. It does make the grip slightly wider, there's no avoiding that, but in practicing dry firing and magazine changes I didn't experience any problems and most importantly, I didn't pinch any part of my hand so so far I'm happy. I still need to get to the range but as the magazine functions the same as it did before installing it I don't expect any problems. The flash on the camera shows it more but you wouldn't think they'd get that much dust carried IWB but I typically hang my clothes on the line weather and time permitting so that probably contributes (no dryer pulling the lint off). The marks on the slide under the optics plate are actually where the finish is wearing off, it's on both sides (Kydex holster).

The texture on my original Dagger Compact frame (ordered in the first two weeks after they were available) looked gross as hell after sanding my stomach down to a hairless patch of skin I later chopped it to take G26 magazines and always photographed it from the right side. |

There was a time I carried everywhere, everyday, and my Glock collected so much lint & skin. I even bought one of those grip plugs to keep stuff out of it, to reduce the amount of toothbrush time. |

I liked it otherwise. I'm intrigued by this, but I have fairly large hands. It's why I haven't bought a Micro yet. I have a few compact Daggers and a Full size-S that I like, but even the compact feels small. I'm thinking of carrying the full size-S with a Glock slide after I do now testing. I like being able to grasp the gun firmly with my entire hand, and it's only a tiny bit longer than the G19 frame. |
