just picked one up... got it in black camo... I got it home and stripped it completely down to clean and re-lube it and discovered a few positive things. it appears they already factory polished the disconnector/back of trigger bar surfaces, along with the top of the disconnector where it interfaces with the slide. I had to remove some overspray from the paint job on the trigger bar rails, mag release, sear pin, hammer pin, sear spring, hammer and strut. I have a set of slim G10 grips and bushings already ordered and definitely going to order a new trigger and sear spring, over all for the $450 OTD I spent, it was worth it... it is a solid base for adding upgrades as I go. Should be a fun little 1911.

There's a store local to me that for some reason got over 80 of these in stock for $299. I'm tempted but I've never owned or wanted a 9mm 1911. I did get a full size .45 untouchable. It appears the magwell isn't removable. Personally I've removed my mag wells from guns that had them because ultimately I run into magazines that won't seat with it. Have you shot it yet? @gunwolf |

Have you shot it yet? @gunwolf the magwell is the one that hooks over the lower grip bushings... since i went with new slim grips/bushings, I just left it off. I have about 200 rounds down range since I bought it...no issues. I have done some internal polishing, adjusted the extractor, and taken a file to the sharp edges (de-horned) and blended the grip safety/frame... it is currently my daily carry as I am confident that it will be reliable. I may change out the front sight for fiber optic from Dawson as my eyes are getting worse... I don't care much what it looks like at the moment.. still have some sanding/blasting before refinish. sure does feel better without the sharp edges.    |
| I got one of these. Anybody ever notice that it's an aluminum frame? I handled officer sized .45s in the past and always thought they were a heavy pig for their size, this one feels right, nice and light. I finally got out my magnet and tested it, frame is aluminum. |
