Does anyone have one of these yet? https://eaacorp.com/product/girsan-witness2311-brat/ I ordered one on a whim from Dacks Outdoor for $533 shipped. I know it won't compare to Stacatto or Bul Armory, but figured it would give me a feel for the 2011 platform. After reading about the platform, I ordered a Prodigy grip module and accompanying parts from Springfield Armory as it is said to be a direct replacement (may need minor fitting). The Brat model is a 3.4" barrel with full size 17rd grip. It is not optics cut, but I probably wouldn't have put an optic on it anyway. |

Unless Girsan has revamped pretty much the entire gun I'd avoid one of these like the plague. My 2311C has been an adventure in replacement parts and zero support from EAA. To start with, the grip frame was too big internally. This meant that only certain brands of mags would lock in. I had initially thought it was something with the mag catch. Nope. Another issue was that the small tab on the right side safety lever was too short and didn't fit into the retention groove in the frame. Of course the frame is fractionally narrower through this area so a replacement safety from Wilson Combat wouldn't work. Other oddball stuff. The gun does not use standard hammer or sear pins. The extractor is not a standard size. It is actually smaller in diameter. Lastly, barrel fit in my gun is dreadful at best. Maybe these guns are worth messing with at $500 but even then I'd skip them and go with one of the Tisas guns. OP I hope you have better luck. I certainly won't buy one again. |
