I grabbed a few boxes of ammo and headed for the range. The attendant used a magnet to ck for steel and was able to pick up the box with the magnet. The cases are brass but the magnet sticks to the bullets. What do I have? Joe |

The bullet is lead core, jacketed in a mild, soft steel, and then washed with copper. It's cheaper to make than an all copper jacket. It's not dangerous to steel target and not armor piercing, but it will fail the "magnet test". |
