| Was running the Dot Torture drill yesterday and noticed the pistol being slightly sluggish going back into battery about 1/2 way through and I had 3 failure to feed. Pistol is new. Magazines are new. Pistol has AeroShell 33MS on the slide, as it came dry. I can't think of what might be causing it, other than weak ammo. Ran a mix of 115 and 124, seemed like the issue mainly occurred with 115gr (Winchester). ANy suggestions of what to look at? |

Yeah, I have a few thousand 115 gr I am trying to get rid of and I agree it may be the issue. I normally run 124gr and I need to test and see if that is in fact the issue. To be fair though, even when I drop the slide empty, it just doesn't seem to snap like my G22 does. Curious... |

I know I commented before, but I shoot a G34.5 with a 13 lb recoil spring and can run any ammo in it without issue. But I don’t use grease. Just light oil. I have at least 5k rounds through it in its current form and have shot anything from cheap 115 to quality 147 and everything in between. The only place I think grease is acceptable on a Glock is on the connector. But it’s not even necessary there in my opinion. |

| Stay away from the grease, stick with gun oil. As you shoot with grease debris builds up in the grease, causing it to slow down. The debris in the grease can also cause damage to your slide. I would go with Otis gun oil, Kroil, even Rem Oil will do better on the gun, plus easier to clean than grease. if you are still having issues with your gun not going back into battery, the next step is to check the ammo. you may be right about the ammo being weak with 115 gr. IF you are still having problems with it not going back into battery, i would check the weight of your recoil spring. it may be too light. |
