Quoted: Good GRIEF man! You are a robot! Most excellent. Crazy fast first shot time there, what're your avg. splits in those 1st 6? Didn’t look but working backwards, last split was a .45 and probably a 1.6 reload. So 4.78-2.05=2.73 minus the first shot which was 1.16 = 1.57/5 would equal .31 splits roughly, but I think they were faster than that. So the reload may have been longer. Make the reload 1.8 and the splits are about .25 which is more what it felt like. My personal best all-alpha Bill from a holster is 1.43 and those splits were around .12-.13 with a .76 or .77 first shot. But, I can’t do that consistently. Some days I can rip shots off a lot faster than others. I’m going to get my holster fixed and will definitely try this one again. I think I can do better. ETA: my memory sucks. It was a 1.46. I still have the picture. Attached File |

Ran again today. Had multiple low 4 second runs with several in the high 3s. Most runs had one Charlie, as I pushed speed I’d get two Charlies. 4.27/1C 4.40/1C 4.00/1C 3.76/2C 3.84/2C 3.88/1C As always I try to set what I think is a “brainless baseline” and I think that 4.50-ish with all Alphas is pretty reasonable given a reload that doesn’t suck(1.6 or below). For me anyways. This was my best run. 3.88 with one Charlie. ![]() Cold Start drill. And of course there are runs with fumbled reloads and trigger freeze, which I don’t bother to keep LOL. But I do fuckup ![]() |

Official entry. P365xl + eps carry, concealed owb, spare mag is also concealed (like it supposed to be shot) 6:07 clean Attached File Fastest with miss, 5:26 Attached File |

Quoted: Nice shooting fellers. I would like to try this. I don't own a timer and never have. Any recommendations for a simple unit to try? You can download an app on your phone. There are few free ones. As for timers- Pact, CED & Competition Electronics all have base models in the $130 range. Amazon and Shooters Connection are about the same price on all 3. I have the CE Pro Timer. It's a mid range model. They all do the same thing but with different features. |

AMG Commander is what I use. IMO best timer out there and it can pick up dry fire on the highest sensitivity. Attached File |

Quoted: Nice! TY. Did some work with the backhoe today. Hopefully I should be able to start getting some match practice in with the warmer weather, if the 40MPH wind will ever die down. Attached File |

Was finally able to get out and shoot this. I did four runs and took the best two. I'm not even posting the two worst ones, it's embarrassing. ![]() No idea why my pics upload sideways... Attached File Attached File |

Good runs guys. I also recommend that you don’t get worried about one or 2 hits out of the A or down zero zone. As long as they are on the paper and close. I always score mine hit factor anyways. I understand that some people want or require “clean” runs but sometimes those aren’t as fun
|
|
Absolutely, very good runs in here! I too prefer hit factor scoring, it's a much better yardstick than "GO/NO-GO". The standards on this one weren't perfectly clear. I agree (since I had a "C" too lol) on not getting too hung up on misses that are still close to vitals. You guys are the few, the proud! I know Henny's got an injury keeping him out for a while, or he'd be in here too. |

I've never really shot like this before so, I definitely have room to improve. Shot in carry configuration. Chopped and bobbed M&P with a Faxon slide and RMR. Raven Vanguard holster. Using a target from a paper grocery bag and a phone app timer 4 practice runs Attached File Run "for keeps." 12.9sec, clean. Attached File |

Quoted: @Never_A_Wick Where are you getting cheap IDPA type targets. For my searches the shipping always kills the deal. I’ll have to dig and see where I got mine (I only have USPSA targets). I’ll let you know. Check Shooter’s Connection. Sometimes they have free shipping on targets. |

I shoot pistol left handed and rifle right handed, so pistol reloads are always going to be a bit slower for me racking the slide rather than using slide release lever. |

You've never shot like this before? Congratulations my friend, you've begun the next evolution. This is a huge leap forward, you'll see. The pressure of the timer, the goals to work toward, keeping the parameters of a drill straight in your head as you shoot it...do this stuff, and you WILL improve as a shooter. And good on you for doing it from concealment, as you would normally carry out and about every day. That has enormous practical value. Well done. I shoot that way almost always, with the remainder being out of a retention holster on a bat belt. This is what it's all about....getting out and actually training, pushing the envelope. You are now light years ahead of "gun folk" who just post pics of guns and shoot at beer cans once a year. Thanks to you, and flfreefall (great runs; by the way!) for the participation. We've got a good thing going here! |

|
Quoted: @Nobody69s What pistol are you shooting left-handed? For these drills I used my HK VP9. I have a gen4 glock 19 and the springfield echelon also but I'm liking the VP9 the best. I should also clarify that I had to modify the left handed slide release because it was giving me malfunctions during shooting. |
|
Quoted: Can someone teach me or post my pics for me? Flickr is not working for me. I'll video and post to YouTube in the future. Did you try copying the BBC code into the post? That's what I always did with imgur and it seemed to work. I'm not familiar with flickr though so I don't know if that's even an option. |
|
Quoted: @Nobody69s Here's a vid I did last night talking about LH reloads. I hope it helps you out some. I'm sure @Never_a_Wick could give you some input as well. LHs need to stick together. This is the info I needed. So I tried the first technique with my Echelon and the VP9. It didn't work on the Echelon but it did work on the VP9! So that's awesome. The Echelon has a left handed slide release so I'll probably start working with that one more and get more used to it. I'll try the next months drill with the Echelon and see how it goes. Thanks for posting that video! |

Quoted: Not sure if you can without a paid account. Did you try copying the BBC code into the post? That's what I always did with imgur and it seemed to work. I'm not familiar with flickr though so I don't know if that's even an option. Tried both flickr and imgur, resized photos to the smallest and it still says files unsupported. Just cell phone pics idk. I tried sorry guys I ran the drill with staccato P, 147 minor, red dot from a owb safariland ALS holster. Completely cold run was all A, 5.00 flat. Did my normal drills and training, I've been neglecting the dry fire after resting after a 5k night vision run n gun. It's definitely shown and I was slow all today. For the cold run, I got 1.24 draw, splits as slow as .27 and as fast as .24. Avg .24-.25. Somehow ripped off a .95 reload for the head A zone. Historically my reloads are well over 1, usually in the 1.5 roughly. After I shot about 150rds, I did 2 more runs pushing speed and dropped a few Cs. Final run was a 4.67 with the two head A zones barely on the line. I don't really like giving myself line breaks but they'd count in a competition setting. |

Awesome time on the drill, and thanks for getting in here! Yes, ARFCOM doesn't make it easy to post images. You do NOT have to be a Team Member. Here's how I do it, very simple: I use a hosting site called postimage.org. Upload image, right from my phone, to postimage.org. Then, hit "share", & copy the "direct link" (several different links will appear. Come here, go to make a post, hit the image icon above, paste that "direct link" in the box that appears, and that's it. Image will show in the post. |
