| Has the VP9 gone out of vogue or are they still G2G? Local place is selling a couple of slow sellers (FDE frame VP9s) for about $650 plus tax. Like the fit and feel of it way better than most poly frame pistols. |

German DE marked guns with 3 mags and night sights…figure dealer cost was $700ish when he got them. They finally sold the OD guns but have a couple of FDE ones lingering….I actually like them better. |

I very much like the VP9 optic ready and the VP9 L optic ready. Extremely accurate. Great choices. (I tend not to like 9 mm) Places that sell them here have not gotten any recently. I also like the P30 and HK45 - if you look how the slide is designed you can see that the pins would have to be modified to do an optic cut. The CC9 shoots way better than other similar size pistols and EPS Carry direct mounts without a plate. H&K is slow getting into the game but when they do something they get it right. CZ also makes a fine pistol. FN …. Not so much |
| I got into VP9s years ago and really liked them. I haven't kept up with their new versions and naming though to know what's what anymore. It seems they've gone up in pricing which might impact sales? That used to be one of the good things about the VP9 was they were less expensive as their other models. |
I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.

Only HK could come up with the logic of producing 7 different lines of pistols at the same time but refuse to improve any of the 3 hammer fired ones even though they have not done anything to them since 2006. Yet the person who buys a hammer fired gun is actually in a different market than a striker, but MBAs wouldn't get that. Strikers: VP9 +sk VP9A1 +K +X VP9CC CC9 Hammer: USP +Compact +Experts(but not in .40, the one you would actually use for USPSA limited which is why they are now over $1700 on GB lol) P30 +L +SK HK45 +C IMO they should discontinue the regular VP9, VP9sk, and P30s. The VP9A1 blows the original out of the water. Come out with an HK45A1, HK9A1, and HK10A1 that are all optics ready and have a compact option. BUT NOOOOO Oh and they discontinued the P2000 and the SKs, the best modern Glock 19 and 26 sized hammer fired CCW guns that were offered this century. If anyone from HK is reading this, I am available for consulting work.

I still think if they put a Picatinny rail, front cocking serrations, and an optic mount in the USP it would outsell the P30 by a ton. They seem to be trying to create “the next big thing” and abandoning development of their existing products is a foolish approach to it. They forget we’re Americans and we don’t want just one gun. |

So the left one pokes my finger when the trigger breaks. HK was quite responsive and sent me an extra set to replace them. Didn’t change anything. So I filed them down as much as I dared. And it still pokes. https://i.postimg.cc/FRMdjB1j/IMG-2774.jpg I do shoot it pretty well. At least slow fire. Rapid fire I tend to track up and right, instead of a nice predictable rise and fall. But that’s just how I interface with it; I don’t imagine the gun inherently does that for everyone. https://i.postimg.cc/4dD02jhb/IMG-2749.jpg Anyway, there’s a ton of great options on the market. There’s nothing that really sets the VP9 apart (or any of them really). They’re all just titling barrel, locked breech, polymer framed, striker fired, magazine fed, semiautomatic, (mostly) 9mm pistols. The differences between them are really quite minute. Had that same paddle release poking my finger issue, trimmed it down as well. That really isn't an ideal setup. It's grip angle isn't as aggressive as Glock or the Glock clones, its more expensive, and tries to be ergonomic in ways that still result in adjustments that frequently don't quite work. It's not better enough to warrant a lot of popularity. Good gun, but amidst a field of good or better modern wondernines, it's not going to be super popular. |

I’ve been vocal for awhile now that all these guns trying to replicate the Glock 19’s recoil spring weight to slide mass ratio is a no go without the Glock grip angle. Love it or hate it, the Glock grip angle is what makes that recipe work. |

The VP9 is unfortunately doing everything right if it existed without competition. Which it does not. Maybe the Steyr M9 would compete based on its grip angle and grip design... but HK didn't make that, either. Though maybe they are throwing about as much into marketing as Steyr does. |

The VP9 and P30, to which I have owned both in the past, were two pistols that felt superb one-handed, but when it came to a two-handed grip I struggled to connect to the frame and get a solid grip. To this day, they are still the only two pistols where I can really say I had an issue with that. That said, the P30L I had (an LEM and a V3) were very accurate and well made. Detail stripping both was an adventure and the attention to detail in the assembly is remarkable. I moved over to a Beretta 92 and it was the right move for me. Would love to see a modern USP. One that is akin to the Langdon Berettas would be something. Optic cut work such as the i-dot from Wright Armory or Langdon's RDO cut exist for the USP, so there are people out there who are interested HK! I feel as though HK needs to go pick up a copy of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six and remember where they came from. |

I feel as though HK needs to go pick up a copy of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six and remember where they came from. OTOH, I just recently got a USP Compact. After doing a Light LEM conversion and a little trigger tuning, I really like this handgun better than my P30s or full size USPs. I'm going to need to send it out to Langdon or Wright for a red dot. The Compact is a really good gun and deserves a good optic. I do wish HK would sell spare optic ready slides like Glock does. That would give USP and P30 owners the best of both worlds. |

The way HK has been going, I wouldn't be surprised if one of these guns will get killed off in a few years, at least in the US market. It will be interesting to see which one. Either way, a lot of folks will be grabbing their torches and pitchforks. |

For him to go with a VP9 and talk it up like he does says a lot to me. My wife and I both have G19’s for carry and between us there’s close to 2 dozen magazines and multiple holsters. Mine is the MOS version with a Trijicon. Finding out that I’d like a VP9 better would be a negative for all the money spent on that platform. |

I just picked up a VP9L OR slide kit for my OG VP 9. I carried an SK in FDE for several years before switching to a M&P Shield. I shot the hell out of the SK in IDPA for a long time, then switched to the full size when I got it. I really wanted an FDE full size but could never find one. I got the L OR slide kit because: 1) it may be time to switch to an optic rather than irons 2) I don’t shoot much IDPA anymore, and the slide length doesn’t matter much in GPA or PCSL. The VP9 line fits my hand well, I shoot them better than my CZs and Glocks, and I don’t mind the paddle mag release. |

I was invested in glock world for decades. Bought a VP9 last year liked it. Then I bought 2 VP9 Tactical pistols with optics. Hooked now sold all glocks except one. Still have magazines and holsters for it. Bought magazines and holsters for them. Bought P30 also and like it a lot since installing the Gray Guns trigger and springs. Then I bought a CC9 holsters and magazines. Really like it and carry it whenever I can. Practice with it and handles well and accurate. Don't be afraid to try HK. |

The more plastic fantastic I get, the more I realize there is very very little difference between them. They’re all doing the same thing, mostly the same way. Differences between them are very minute and come down to personal preferences. I have big hands and keep running into issues with triggers. The VP9’s mag release paddles stick up just enough to poke my finger when the trigger breaks. The CZ P-10 pinches my finger between the trigger and the frame when it breaks. So I happen to prefer the 509, P320, and PPQ triggers. But then I don’t like the PPQ sights and additional perceived recoil. The VP9 is nice because of the very customizable grip panel options. But let’s be real, grip feel really doesn’t matter that much. It’s not like you’re holding the pistol for 8 hours a day and really need some ergonomic thing to avoid strain. Ultimately, I had to liquidate some of my pistols to pay some bills, the first 3 out would probably be the CZ, PPQ, and VP9. But I don’t particularly dislike any of them, or I would’ve already gotten rid of them. |

Love my VP9s - have 5 right now if different flavors including 2 ORs and 1 TOR. I kinda want a new X Tactical, but it’s damn near the same gun minus finger grooves after I’d get done doing my standard customization of it (new trigger etc) Not exactly sure why they ditched the finger grooves. |
