I normally use leather OWB belt holsters. There has been a significant uptick in unsavory characters around town, and I do not trust my speed to draw from a seated driving position. I do not want to unholster and reholster every time enter/exit the car. Is there a close fitting detachable holster system that I could use and also re attach the holster to a car fitting of some sort. At least the pistol will stay holstered during the transitions. |

You're far better off learning how to draw and fire efficiently from the seated position in the vehicle. This is one of many advantages of AIWB. But I could do it fine from strong side too, OWB or IWB. Safariland QLS works just fine, but using it in this application doesn't lend itself well to concealment. Personally I've never liked the idea of the sidearm being detached from me while driving. |
