I just got a HK P30L and recently picked up a VP9A1F. I really like how these pistols feel and I really like the HK style mag release. Both guns do not like 115 grain ammo. I had many failures to eject with the VP9, the P30 didn't experience any stoppages. Ejection with both pistols is weird and sometimes in my face when using 115 gr ammo. This is not a huge issue for me because I mostly buy 124 gr ammo by the case, but sometimes if I see a deal on 115 it is tempting. Is this possibly a break in issue with these two pistols or is this just the way they are? If it is then it's no big deal since I have other 9mm that shoot 115 gr ammo fine. Attached File Attached File The Glock and CZ P09 F ran all ammo fine. The P09 is a fantastic pistol and I've been surprised how much I like. I need a holster for it and both HKs if anyone has any suggestions. |

Just run 100 or so rounds of 124 or 147 and it’ll probably smooth out and work. Congrats on your adoption of those two lonely orphans. |

They're tuned for the 124gr and 147gr duty ammo used by police forces in Europe. I fed mine 124gr. It should be fine with +P 115gr though. After it's broken in good anything will work. I sold it a while back, but not because the gun wasn't great. I switched to .40 S&W in order to be able to load one caliber since I load for my son and myself. My son has a P30L I bought him a few years back in .40 S&W. It tends to like the 165gr .40S&W loads best, but it'll shoot any of them. I ended up switching over to the S&W M&P 2.0 in .40S&W. I bought one to see how I could shoot it, since I was having trouble transitioning from the double action to the single action following rounds. I did better with the S&W M&P, enough so that I ended up buying two of them. My son tried my M&P and shoots his H&K P30L better. His transition between DA and SA is almost not noticeable. He's better than me. Plus he carries it cocked and locked most of the time now, so it's all SA. That P30L is still one of my favorites, second only to my 1911. Enjoy it. It'll last nearly forever. |

Had a VP9 for a short time and don't remember it having issues with 115gr stuff. I have also heard it's sprung for the heavier stuff because nobody outside the US really uses the weaker 115gr. ETA. I didn't sell it because it was a bad gun, it just didn't fit my hand quite as good as the M&P and I'm already set up for the Smiths in regards to holsters, mags and spare parts. The VP was more accurate though and I almost made the switch. |

I just got a P30 and P30SK, both with LEM triggers. It's been one of those "why did I wait so long" things. I really like these guns a lot. It's a shame they discontinued the LEM trigger. It was a great alternative to a striker while keeping a consistent trigger. Now I want a VP9 too. |
| Before I bought the VP9 I watched a lot of review videos. If you watch Honest Outlaw's review of the VP9A1F, you will see it has erratic ejections when his wife is firing it. That is how my VP9 ejects when shooting 115 grain ammo. |

I'm not sure if they are still producing USP LEMs (I don't think they are) but those are easily convertible anyway and the conversions kits are out there (trigger conversions being one of the selling points of the USP). I'm actually planning to convert my USP Tactical to LEM now that I've tried it on the P30s. I had to get both my P30 V1s second hand. There may be a few left in the new gun supply chain somewhere, but I've had no luck searching them out (except for a few V1 SK variants I've come across). Gun.deals and Wikiarms are also showing the P30 and P30L V1s all OOS. I haven't looked for LEM HK45s but they are also easily convertible. |
