OP link is dead.

Also, do they even make these anymore?  Can't seem to find one, and the gun store mentioned they were discontinued (though I think they were likely full of it).

Yeah, they were full of it.

My dealer had a P99AS compact in last time I was there, a week or so ago.

Walther ended it's relationship with S&W in December, and has since built a plant here.
Since the break, P99's have been scarce for some reason, but not impossible to find.
