I recently purchased an original Kadet kit and I am unable to get it installed on my 1991 pre-B frame. Using pages 11-12 of this manual for terms: https://www.mcarbo.com/.Owners%20Manuals/cz-75-Kadet-Owners-Manual.pdf I fit Surface A per the instructions and the fit is tight. Surface B did not require any fitting. I cannot install the kit because the slide (2) is binding. I detail stripped the frame and without any parts installed, the slide slides fine in the frame rails. With the trigger bar, sear cage, hammer, etc. installed, the slide begins to bind shortly before it would be fully seated; by the time the takedown markers are aligned, it is extremely difficult to retract and removal requires me to strike the rear of it quite hard, usually with a mallet. I put some blue marker on the slide rails to try to identify what it may be contacting. I suspect it may be the two tabs on either side of the trigger bar - they appear to sit high enough that a slide would contact them. This tracks with the blue marker that was removed - always on the bottom of the rail, not the side. And again, the slide slides freely when no parts are in the frame. My 9mm slide fits and functions fine. Does anybody have any advice on how to install the Kadet kit? Thanks, |

I resolved the issue. What was happening was that the insides of the slide were dragging against the sides of the sear cage. One or the other was probably out of spec. I removed material from the slide and also smoothed up those sides of the sear cage that were interfering. That did the trick. |
