Those of you with this pistol, what do you prefer, safety or decocker? Presently mine has the decocker but am thinking of installing the safety. Thoughts? |

I have an original P-01 that doesn’t have the option to switch but I think the decocker is perfectly suited for its intended purpose. I’ve never wished it had the safety. My SP-01 Tac is the same, decocker, and for a duty-style gun I think it’s ideal. So for carry and duty, decocker is perfect; for competition or range time, traditional safety is good. I would trust the safety for carry as well, I just like the decocker slightly more for that. |

All my Omega CZ's have the safeties installed. Consistency. The M&Ps, the FNS pistols, the 1911's, even my XD Tactical .45 acp has thumb safeties. Been doing the cocked and locked thing since my first 1911 in 1978. No reason to change. |

| Plus with some polishing and lighter springs, the double action pull can be smooth as butter. If they made a wider safety lever with more purchase for your thumb, I would be using safeties. One company did make an aftermarket lever but had issues with them not working in all P series without some fitting. |

| I have a PCR, which is basically the same pistol, with the decocker. All of my CZ pistols have the decocker. I really like the DA pull from the half-cock position on the CZ pistols. My SP-01 Tactical is especially nice. I had a RAMI with a safety and I didn't like it. Aside from the weight, lack of a decocker was a main reason to trade it. |
