| I kind of want an all steel pistol for range use and maybe night stand gun and as a suppressor host. I know the P01 will be lighter which would be nicer IF i carry it. I know the SP01 is heavier which should make it nicer shooting. But how much difference is there in the recoil feeling with the weight of steel vs aluminum. Also supressed I think the SP01 would be nice, but would it just be TOO nose heave with a can hanging off it? Would the shorter P01 handle nicer supressed? Am I overlooking anything else? Is one easier to supress or easier to mil for a optic? Is one generally viewed in higher esteem? |

I can only speak to the SP01. It's awesome. Added cajon parts and the trigger is amazing. Doesn't feel anymore front heavy than other suppressed pistols. Have tried it with a few suppressors but prefer this one. Attached File |

With pistols especially, I also prefer lighter suppressors (10oz max, preferably around 8oz or less) to make the gun handle better. Heavier suppressors go better with heavier guns (like a TiRant9 on a steel frame 1911 Commander) to preserve some of the balance and handling as much as possible. A really light can (like an Ecco TLX or TBAC Fly9) can work well with a light weight alloy or polymer framed pistol. A lot of people don't consider weight and balance, then they hate shooting suppressed handguns because it feels awkward.  Here's my P01 with a 10oz CGS Kraken (now called Mod9). With an aluminum framed pistol, this suppressor is a little on the heavy side of my preference. However, this can's weight is rearward biased with an aluminum tube and aluminum baffles at the distal end, so it feels and handles like a lighter can. The light helps too by adding weight to the pistol's frame, plus it allows me to use a light bearing, suppressor ready T.Rex RagnarokSD holster. SP-01 w/Rugged Obsidian-9 I have both a P-01 and an SP-01... I've only shot the SP-01 suppressed and it's FanTasTic! Smooth cycling, a gentle "Push" back into the web of the hand whether firing slow or rapid. The sound suppression is superb with the Obsidian. The CZ Customs barrel is very accurate and was a nice and tight fit out of the box. Cycles everything I've ran thru it... I've yet to shoot it in it's "K" configuration but I'll fix that tomorrow! |
