Says alloy frame? My pre b is steel, I think. No matter, pre b is rare and $ when found. I just got lucky 20 years ago and a bunch of these came in cheap, Czech police trade ins. Think I’ll drag it to the range soon. If you find one, buy it. Very accurate. Attached File |

Add was wrong, they’re steel (I mean steel by its nature is an alloyed metal, but this was more likely just incorrect description as alloy is typically utilized to refer specifically to aluminum alloys in gun industry marketing speak) |

I picked up one, NIB, back in 1983 when I was stationed in Germany at the Army’s Heidelberg Rod & Gun club… It was the cheapest 9mm there and as a married SP5/E-5, that was all I could afford. Kept it for a few years and shot the crap out of it, but like a dumb@zz, I traded it for a NIB Beretta 92FS in 1987, when “Beretta” was the new “hot” 9mm for GIs since it was now the official new sidearm for the military. Anyway, I found my way back to CZ around the early 2000s and finally found another VG+ Pre-B, CZ75 around 2010 for $400… At a pawn shop near an Army base. It was likely a GI “bring back” from Germany since it did not have any stamped import info and dated “84.” As for these new CZ75 Legends, I will definitely be picking one of these up once they start showing up to add to the collection!! |
well darn , my old dog was built in 1979. got it from a friend who refinished it as it was trashed from seeing a hard life in.. South Africa I think. I paid.. $400 maybe. I still run it, so replaced parts as they wore out. Those old slide stops break. The old grips aren't compatible with modern solvents and abuse. I have the hammer , but it bites. It won't run some current production CZ75 mags, but I have enough good old ones. Here it is next to its contemporary from a few hundred miles away made the same year. Two very different guns with very different mission statements |

She was shooting really good with the .22, but got annoyed she wasn't hitting everything so easily with the bigger guns in our prescribed run-and-gun stage, with a 1979 shortrail. (shot got better as the day went on). (She owned it with a Slovakian Stribog btw - hitting everything she aimed at) |
