I want to use this as a grab and go CCW when making short trips. I like it being compact....but anyone with experience with the 8 rounder?

All four of mine work just fine. And have done so for several years. Go for it.

It is a great little pocket pistol. I use mine as a grab and go 7-11 gun, and as a back up gun when needed. It has always gone bang and it not ammo sensitive ime.

Does the 8 rounder have a spring made for the 8 rounder or is it a +2 mag extender with the spring of a 6? Don't know if you can answer that...

Don't know. Kahr has been very good about answering questions though. I met the owner at the Dallas NRA show las year. Nice guy.

The 8 round mags have a full-length steel tube.  It's the same magazine that the T9, TP9,  CT9, and ST9 use.  They just use a combination spacer/floorplate on the ones they sell for the smaller models.
