| I just got a CC9, and I have a vp9sk, p30sk, and a p2ksk. I’m mulling over thinning the herd, since the thicker girls seem redundant with the CC9. Thoughts? |

CC9 shoots a really tight group . The up side to some of the others is lower cost high capacity mags. Just three of the 17 round mags for CC9 is about $200. VP & P30 share the same mags . I’m guessing the CC9 is the only one that’s optic ready. You probably have $ invested in holsters & mags so factor that into the decision. If they. Are proven reliable and shoot well you should probably keep them . |

I have VP9SK and P30SK LEM. I’ve been carrying my CC9 OWB in lieu of my G43X and I shoot it faster and more accurately than anything other than the VP9SK. I have a IWB holster for my CC9 but haven’t used it much. All that to say, I’ll probably keep all of them. Been running 15 rd mags in both the P30 and VP9 and will likely put those in my winter time rotation along with my P2000 LEM with 15 rd mags. Love the P2K but can’t stand the P2K SK. Sell that one! |

I think my CC9 stands on it's own. It's different enough, I think, to really not be all that comparable to the USP/P2K/P30/VP. It's a pistol made for the US market, where the Euros got the SFP9CC. Personally, I think the CC9 is the best in it's class. (And I've owned most of them.) Concealable, comfortable, reliable, laser accurate, you can load mags to capacity. If it came in .40 I'd be all over another one. lol |

I had a P2000SK but sold it. Regretted it after. I occasionally think of getting another. But having arrived in my late 50’s my eyesight isn’t iron sight friendly anymore. The idea of the CC9 being optics ready is appealing. The something smaller than my G19 for carry is also appealing. The CC9 availability at gun shops in my area seems to be not much. I’ve been hoping one shows up in my local classifieds. Nothing yet. Thought about going through my favorite FFL and ordering one but don’t want to repeat past purchases. Where I buy a gun sight unseen. Shoot 2-3 mags and end up not liking the ergos, sight picture, etc. And end up selling it. I don’t shoot many small guns well. My J frame S&W being the exception. Follow up shots are my difficulty. Practice makes perfect. I don’t get enough range time. I like my XDS 45 but tight groups don’t happen. Extended mags work best keeping my pinky finger from hanging in the breeze. For those that have shot the CC9. How does the grip feel compared to say the P2000SK? I remember it being blocky. How’s the recoil impulse on these for follow up shots? How are they with an optic? Sorry for the hijack. Morning coffee and contemplations….. |
| I had a VP9SK, P30SK and a CC9. I much prefer the SKs! the CC9 just didn’t shoot as well as the SKs (both shot as well as the full size counterparts) I hated the button and it just didn’t have that HK feel I like. I ended up giving my CC9 to my son, my P30SK is still my EDC. |

Can only compare to the plethora of micro 9mms I tried out before selecting the CC9 (a couple P365s, Shield plus, Hellcat, Glock 43 (I think), and I wanted to shoot an IWI Slim Elite but could never find one). The CC9 felt best in hand (w/12 rnd mag), has the best trigger reach (especially when the trigger is fully depressed), quick reset. It was also the least snappy for me. The mag releases aren't in the way and are the same type I'm used to in all my other pistols. Only shot it with the stock irons, they did not require any adjustment even with my cross eye dominance. Double taps are fast and accurate (enough for me). |

Seems like an easy decision, based on preference for hammer vs. striker and whether or not you plan to mount an optic. If you don't mind carrying a striker-fired pistol, I don't see any reason not to go for the CC9, at least if you're limiting yourself to those two options. I'm in the middle. I dislike striker fired, at least for carry, having started out with a P series Sig (with their excellent decockers), but I also see the value in an optic cut as my eyes age. In recent years I've been carrying a P365 and G43, due to the dearth of hammer-fired subcompacts, especially those that are DA/SA, but a buddy just gave me a P30SK he inherited, so I may try carrying it for a bit. On the positive side, she is DA/SA with a decocker (it's not the LEM trigger), but she is a big girl compared to what I have been carrying, and any optic would likely have to go in the rear sight dovetail and ride fairly high. The decocker button is also a bit awkward and the decocking action seems a bit... violent, at least compared to what I've used in the past, but I'm happy there's at least one DA/SA subcompact-ish option. Reasonable theory on why Springfield discontinued it so quickly: Why Springfield Armory Discontinued the XD-E And I definitely agree with his closing comments: Personally, I’d like to see a slim 9mm DA/SA from a company that does know how to appeal to smaller niche markets with premium-level products. Bump the price tag to the $1000-1500 range and just throw in all the stuff the DA/SA fans want. Make it optics ready. Decock only. Get the size down and figure out how to do one of those tiny clown-car 10-round magazines.
Make something that resembles a Beretta Cheetah that can fire a respectable cartridge. Or just a Sig P365 with a hammer. I think there are a lot of people who would be willing to pay a premium for a small DA/SA that’s actually done right. |

I usually carry my 26 with flush 10 round mag. The vp9cc shows to only be slightly longer than the 26, and not as long as the 43x. |

I've been looking at the VP9CC, CC9, VP9SK and P30SK. I decided to stick with the fatter guns and recently bought a P30SK. I'll probably also pick up a VP9SK if I come across one. For one, I like the ability to use a 17rd VP9/P30 mag as my reload with a 21rd stashed somewhere off body. I like the option of either a 12rd flush or 15rd extension mag in the gun. Also, on a road trip I can CC a subcompact and as a backup, pack a full size VP9 or P30 that uses the same mags, making magazine logistics a lot simpler. One 12 or 15 in the SK and a pouch full of 17s and/or 21s will feed both guns. The other thing, that I see a few folks in the thread allude to and is not discussed much in the micro compact conversation, for many folks, grip width as much as length affect shootability and recoil control. I have not shot the VP9CC or CC9, but I have tried the G26 vs G43/48 and P365 vs P320 subcompacts. I shoot the fatter guns significantly better, even if the grip length is the same. The thin micros are great for pocket carry, belly band or deep concealment, but in a belt holster, I much prefer the subcompacts that are chopped versions of the larger guns. Unfortunately, the market and manufacturers are turning their back on these guns. |

To further hijack OP’s thread; I went to my local Sportsman’s Warehouse today and fondled a CC9. I assume it had the medium backstrap installed and it was displayed with a 12 round magazine. It fit me well. I’ll go back on Memorial Day for the 10% Veteran discount and buy one. Now the holster hunt begins. IWB and pocket for the cargo shorts. It’s been over six months since my last gun purchase I deserve it
