What are some good options for quality, durable screws to mount dots? I haven't had any shear, but I can definitely see it happening. I'm guessing grade 8 would be a good choice, but I'm not positive. I'd also like suggestions on where to purchase (maybe McMaster Carr?). I would not mind having a bunch of the most common sizes for future use. |

Grade 12.9. I wasn't even aware that that grade existed. However, I can't find anywhere in the listing on where the screws were made. In doing some research, I found a couple places where people recommended CAMCAR screws, which are US made grade 12.9. The high-strength alloy screws that McMaster Carr sells are apparently CAMCAR. I'm thinking of ordering a 100 pack each of M3, M4, 6-32, and 4-40. That should cover the most common diameters used. I have tools to trim them to the proper length as needed. |
