I have a S&W 627 PC that I carry OWB on my hip occasionally. Unfortunately the OEM grips that came on the gun causes my skin to rash. I need to keep the grips to a similar length as this is my night stand revolver that fits nicely in the biometric safe installed on the side of my night stand. I’ve narrowed it down to either VZ 320’s or Badger grips N frame round full grip. I understand the Badger grips are a bit longer but I have some room to work with. Anyone use the badger grips and how do you like them? There appears to be more of a palm swell on the badgers that I prefer. If only LOK made grips for larger S&w revolvers, I’ve used both sizes for my Kimber K6S and I are extremely pleased with them. |
| Speaking of Badger, I ordered grips for a Python. I wanted some grips that cleared for speed loaders, so I opted for speed loader cut. The Badger came in a few weeks later. The front seam was clean, but the rear did not line up as close as the factory Altamont grips. The right grip panel has a gap that a sheet of paper could fit. I have two new Pythons and both factory (Altamont) grips fit tighter than the Badger. |

I also have a PC Model 627 with the VZ 320 grips on it. The grips are beautifully machined and fit perfectly. I love the way they look and the way they feel in the hand. I do have to say that the recoil of the gun with the VZ grips is still a bit harsh when shooting .357. Rubber grips are much more comfortable when it comes to recoil. |
