Wholy Sheet!!!! I have never tried appendix carry before cause I was fat. I'm still fat but working hard on that. My belly has shrunk a lot! So out of the blue I tried to appendix carry my 442. WOW! It's so comfortable! And it stays put & isn't a PITA to sit in the car, or a chair, and I don't have to wear baggy clothes to cover it. So I tried 2 days with my normal G27...I'm sold!!!!! This is the way I'm carrying forever now. Also I don't require vast amounts of holsters. I have a simple Bianchi tan IWB I had for years for my 442, fits great. I have another unnamed leather IWB that fit the G27 great. They carry well on the belt. Just enough ride depth to draw, & the grips don't poke. Carrying 1-2 just before the front pocket. I'll be honest, I was not carrying as much because as my weight shrinks I really wanted to not wear baggy clothes. My wife hated them on me & other functions I looked big still. It's nice to finally be able to show off my weight loss in clothes that fit & still carry. |

Agreed, I have always carried appendix with my G19....never a wide body by any means but as I lost about 20lbs over the last couple years, it's crazy comfortable, no more fidgeting to scooch the gun over, when it pinched me when sitting in a chair at a restaurant or shifting when sitting in the truck for long rides. if it's comfy you'll carry it all day every day, as you should. |

T.Rex is very good. JMCK is awesome. However, Im helping the employees at Tenicor put thier kids through Havard. In the last few months: Velo 4 for 1911 CMDR Velo5 for G19/45 Just this week, a blemicore Sagax Lux 2 for G19/45 (fits multille lights works WITHOUT the light). To wrap this up, I like Tenicor holsters. |

I’ve been considering switching to appendix carry. I’ve carried a G19 for years but recently switched to a Beretta 92 Centurion due to my preference for the platform. I think it would benefit from carrying in that position due to its size. |

The hardest part of switching to appendix carry is the draw mechanics. I was pretty solid on the strong side. 1st class I took AIWB it was like a monkey fucking a football. I was chasing "comfort" with wedges, pillows, etc., but the body contour that Tenicor developed for the Sagax Lux2 holsters proved to be even more comfortable than the Mastermind Tactics pillow I was using on other holsters. Staccato HD/ TLR-7X Tenicor Sagax Lux 2 Neo Mag Alias belt system. This thing was a game changer for me. The holster locks into place and doesn't move. Even with the dual DCC clips from Tenicor, the holster seemed to cant back and forth. |

Tier One Concealed is what I use for appendix carry. I like the ulti-clips that clip to my pants and not belt. I carry a 19, 26, 43, or 48 appendix, all using Tier One holsters. All have mag pouch side cars except my G26 holster, it’s by itself. While I do like appendix carry I wish I could figure out a way to appendix carry with a tucked in shirt, I don’t like an untucked shirt but will do so when carrying. |

Department policies often dictate location and even what type of holster they use, even off duty. A close friend was limited to only carrying his Sig P220 off duty if carrying on his badge (without a carry permit). He also couldn't carry his duty weapon outside the county off duty unless traveling to/from home in full uniform. But his sheriff was a wacko  |

Could be since the last plainclothes LEO was in a Starbucks talking with a civilian. He had his badge on a lanyard and handgun in a thumbsnap leather pancake holster. Two LEO'S before that visited me because my long driveway was suspected to be the avenue of escape after a home invasion and robbery. They had the same type holster except the badge was on the belt. Yeah, it must be the agency issued gear. I never saw any IWB handcuff cases. After thinking about it, I suppose as a plainclothes LEO, you wouldn't want your pistol up front when you're handcuffing someone. Now their hands are right on your gun. |

First, in my area most plain clothes guys are open carrying with retention holsters when on duty. Second, if you have to switch between regular duty holsters and concealed holsters, it seems like it would be kind of preferable for the gun to be on the same spot. Third, yes on the not wanting the gun to be right up against the suspect when handcuffing, etc. We do train to try to keep the gun as far from the suspect as possible in most close circumstances and that is easier with strong side. I do notice a lot of younger guys are carrying appendix off-duty though. For me, it’s reason two and I simply cannot understand how anyone finds it comfortable. Every time I think I’ll try it, I never even make it out of the house, but it seems I’m in the minority on that. |

Here is another AIW carrier! And the original poster reminded me about the 3 O'clock carry position... and the P_A_I_N of that carry position! I worked in a financial institution, no guns allowed. Because my office was right across from the elevators I picked up a Smart Carry... and the Angels Sang!!! No more pain, no need to touch the weapon when moving around... Heaven at last!!! THEN - I found Raven Concealment - and the Vanguard line is what I'm rocking these days! Here in Savannah the Vanguard has a special appeal as it won't soak the 'holster'... Every once in a while, I'll pull down the 'old holster' box just to reminisce... Maike this a GREAT Father's Day Weekend! |

Anyone can carry appendix, provided they aren't lying to themselves about their pants size and letting their gut hang over their belt. It has become my favorite carry method over the last few years, and the best holster I've found for it has to be the Tulster Oath. |
