Finally got into the 21st century and put an RMR on my pistol. Noticed today when shooting in full sun I was getting a red box shaped glare in the window. Putting my hand over the top of the sight made it to away so I'm guessing it was the emmiter reflection from the sun. Is there a way to eliminate this other than going to a closed emmiter? Other than the glare I like the Dot, groups have shrunk if I take my time and do my part. ETA. I have an RMR top mounted on a LPVO and have never really noticed the glare but then it's not the primary sight on that gun so it doesn't get used very much. |

a closed emitter optic can get the same reflection as it's from light coming through the front of the optic i would just shoot what you have for a while. alot of the things your noticing now will "go away" , focus on the target and not the optic next time you go out cover the front of the optic with some dark painter's tape and shoot the gun , it will help you keep both eye's open and target focused

It happens, and the RMR is one of the least impacted by it believe it or not. My Holosuns are pretty much unshootable at certain angles. Even light bulbs make my 407’s go wild. Someone will be in to tell me I’m wrong, but they just haven’t shot their gun in that circumstance. Attached File People complain about the RMR having more tint, but in my experience it’s 100% necessary. I couldn’t replicate this same photo with my RMR’s, but it does happen facing the sun to a much lesser degree. |
