I missed out last round of the 2.0 45 long slides about a year ago and people seemed to get some that were pretty much new for a few bills. Saw these came around again so I couldn’t pass this time and ordered one today. Anyone know if these are from the same agency and possibly same good condition? Never bought a trade in before so hoping it’s not clapped out.  ETA: picked it up today and it’s brand new. Not like new, but not a single round through it and sat on a shelf for years new. Gun was bone dry but not a spec of rust anywhere. It comes with a hard case, 3 mags, all backstraps, and documents/lock. (Not sure if S&W changed it up but my 9mm 4.0C came in a shitty and destroyed cardboard box.) Manufacture date is January 15th, 2020 and night sights still glow decently. The coating on these brand new mags is the same as my trade in mags but looks darker from sitting I’m guessing. No corrosion though. Trigger is 5.5#. That’s a half pound heavier than my 4.0C but it also has thousands of rounds and the break and reset are like a wet fart now. The new gun is much more crisp. It’s an absolute steal at $325. I’m giving serious thought to buying another but with trade in guns my next one could be a clapped out shit show for all I know. I think it’d still be worth it beat up, but hard to beat the high of opening it up to see its brand new. Attached File |

Got one from AIM Surplus a couple months back. $259 I think. Came with one magazine. Great shape. Dirty inside. Appears they shoot them and no one checks to make sure they get cleaned/lubed afterwards. Small amount of wear here and there. Shot it. Shoots good enough (based on one range trip with Blazer 230 grain FMJ) to send the slide out for machining for a dot optic and refinishing (melonite). Looking forward to getting it back and heading to the range with it. Love those 1.0 frames. I also put a new set of night sights on it. The originals were about dead. Oh, not the 10 round mag. that came with it. I got a great deal on several of the larger mags. several years ago when I got my 2.0 .45 acp Compact. Just installed one to see what it looked like. You do have swap out the grip pin with the newer 2.0 pin. | I've been thinking about it for a few years, but with the budget being tight, the fact that I bought a Springfield Garrison .45acp a few years ago, and I also bought two M&P 2.0s in .40S&W, I just don't think I can justify it. The M&P .40s are my carry guns in general. I probably carry the 1911 one day a week every week. If I have the money free I'll probably buy one, but it'll be a 2.0 version. I like the upgrades on the 2.0s. |

Never had the issue of moving the safety except when I wanted to. The M&P safety lever seems flimsy but I can tell you it takes a couple pair of pliers and some effort to bend one side up or down a little. |

Night sights are bright but not brand new bright. Guessing the gun is maybe 5 or 6 years old. Came in a hard case with all accessories. For the money this is the best deal I’ve seen on a 45 in ages. | OP, you convinced me to bite on this deal. I used to be a hardcore .45 fan, but in the last few years switched going all in on 9mm. However, I still have a bunch of .45 ammo put up. I'm just hoping I get as lucky as you getting a NIB package with the extra mags since the fine print says it only comes with 1 mag. All the cheap trade in .45 mags are out of stock on all the sites I checked, and new ones cost an arm and a leg. I may end up spending more on mags than the gun itself. |

Keep watching AIM and the other common trade in places. Their last batch of mags was out of cycle and they didn’t have any of the guns. I’m going out on a limb and assuming the mags AIM had were not from the same agency the GrabAGun pistols are from. My AIM mags were pretty worn in comparison to even the used guns GrabAGun has. So there’s probably a bunch more M&P 45 mags sitting somewhere. In other news I just got one of the $110 Leupold Deltapoint Micros for it from EuroOptic too. No it’s not an RMR, but it’s a cheap in between that requires no permanent modification. Also like that it has cowitness rears built in. M&P 45 $325 Holosun PID $80 Leupold DP Micro $110 10 trade in mags $140 Hell of a combo for the cost of what just the gun would be new. Attached File |

Got mine back from DP Custom Works. Milled for the Osight SE green dot, refinished (melonite). Attached File The I installed (with a lot of work compared to an Apex trigger kit) a GP trigger so it looks/feels similar to some of my other M&Ps. Attached File With the 2.0 internals the trigger pull is a pretty decent feeling 5 lbs. Accuracy was good with the iron sights and me fighting to see them clearly. Hopefully a range trip before the week is over will have it sighted in/tested with some Winchester Defense 230 grain hollow points. For info, I had DP Custom Works mill a 1.0 .40 3.6" slide for a Holosun K series keeping the original sights and the sights are easy to use through the optic. With the Osight SE I can barely see the top of the front sight through the optic. I do mean barely. I may either get new/taller sights or swap the optic out for another K series or an EPS Carry optic and see if that makes more of the front sight visible. |
