Just wondering if there are any options besides the factory Para ones. I am fairly sure standard 1911 grip safeties do not work, but I could be wrong.

Yes, just like a 1911 as far as most parts go.  Only parts that are unique are the trigger, grips, and mag catch.  Some of the early double stacks used a longer trigger spring, but evidently PO changed them to use the same trigger spring as any other 1911.
