The description on the website appears to be the same for all of their magazines, so it doesn't really differentiate between their 7-round and 7-round GI magazines; the last time I dealt with them, which was a few years back, it was easy to email/call them for questions, but I've had no such luck in recent weeks; otherwise, I'd ask them direct. What is the actual difference between the two, if any? |

I did finally hear back from Checkmate. They weren't ignoring my emails; they have a new ticket system you have to log in for, and they kept going to my junk email, so the rep did confirm the description is incorrect. The GI is a contract-spec magazine, meaning it is built to the latest USGI drawings, using USGI feed lips, and he said these are strictly ball ammo mags only. The 7-round non-GI uses their hybrid feed lips, in addition to the updated follower. |
